T.O.
Police beatings are also bad. Am not advocating for police violence. If the guy is stealing its reasonably expected that he will be restrained and in the process beaten. But after you have taken him down there is no reason to whale on him like that with everyone cheering him on as if they give two shits about justice. I can flip that around and ask what people's reaction would be if it was a white man. Would you display the same lack of empathy? Am sure there is a race angle to the way people are reacting to this, but that's for people to introspect on. I mean it has to be one of two things. Either these fuckwits cheering the beating on or calling for more violence have a morbid fascination with seeing violence, which implies some mental health issue. OR it is good ol' racism where in another time they'd be part of a lynch mob...
It could be one of 3 things (why limit your choices to 2 ?)

When the state abdicates people who have to make a living end up taking the law into their own hands, simple as that,
I've known one guy in the states who has a similar business, shoplifting comes with the territory.
On the one hand you want to sympathize with the poor, on the other hand you have to survive and feed the family, survival trumps everything.

Pretty sure you don't go to work packing a gun (the US is fucked up no question about that).

It's much easier to lecture and preach from the safety of the ivory tower.

If there was a gun involved, a beating or even a shooting would have been appropriate. But just a hapless broke guy tryna steal cigarettes with a trash can. Come on.
You say " But just a hapless guy tryna steal cigarettes with a trash can" like that's just normal. So he deserves a free pass.
As Milton Freedman said "There's no such thing as a free lunch"
Who knew if there was a gun involved? I'm a hapless guy trying to get pussy. But at least I pay for it. Don't try to steal it because I am hapless.
Anyway, in case you haven't noticed, there are a lot of hapless guys in LA. In the US. In Canada. In the world. I guess we should all just have at it.

I think it is easy to say "be a tough guy" without knowing what it actually entails. Let Mike Tyson tell you a thing or two about tough guys.

PS: The BF shouldn't have run away, but instead of fighting, especially when you dont know how to fight, and the majority of us dont, its better to just protect your girl and give them the money and get them outta there.

You still haven't defined what a tough guy is....I'm waiting.

The robbers in the video thought they were tough. They thought they would frighten their victims into compliance without facing any consequences.

When the normal functioning male brought his own gun to the gun fight, one of the tough guys dropped and his friend showed just how much of a coward he is by running out the door.

Your view of the world is backward and pathetic.

Tyson is speaking about men in prison... the criminals just like the ones in the video.

Sometimes I think you're hopelessly woke. Maybe you need more life experience.

I've been around the same people Tyson talks about. It's true... 99% of them are cowards. 1% are extremely hardcore.

Frankly, you give off many of the hallmarks of cowardice, sans the criminal element. Try THR or something to grow some nuts.

What we saw in the video was courage. Kautilya's "tough" comment is something he got from watching too many Hollywood action movies with "tough" studly leading actors.

If I were the cop I would give the robber 2 options:

1. I can charge the store owners with assault, but you then also get charged for theft. And since the loot looked to be over $950 that then becomes a felony in California punishable by up to 3 years in prison.

2. We wont charge you with theft, and we let the assault charges skate as well

Guaranteed he picks option 2

Seems like you've got it all figured out.

I bet you hit the letters on your keyboard extra hard when typing out that diatribe.

With regard to raging misogyny, it sounds like your transition has been successful. You've got the PMS response mastered.
