Thought I'd post this, probably the only company I am invested in right now, other than another one, which is a fintech stock. (Rest of my money is in GIC, US bonds, and puts on some useless companies that are in a bubble)

Long story short, engineering is better than Tesla, I got in at $5.75 with 10,000 shares, if it goes to $100, thats a $1,000,000 market value, a 20x which is quite rare.

With reward comes risk though, which is, if it goes bankrupt, however with tech usually the best engineering wins and Lucid Motors has everyone beat. Not to mention some other things I can't talk about with regards to partnerships with the company.

Anyways, a nice company to do some research in if you have the time to. It's quite a popular company actually but the stock has been killed, for obvious reason though. However it probably has a good chance at recovering in my opinion.

Probably not worth investing much but a small allocation to this company could turn out very well, for me I put in about 5% of my investment portfolio.

Production is easy. It's scaling that is hard.

Lucid is very risky. They are not makings cars profitably, and are nowhere near Tesla in terms of production, features, and fanbase. I personally wouldn't invest in it, but anything could happen.

Meet Kevin did any alasyis on Lucid and Rivian, pretty interesting. Reason I didn't invest in them.

Best tech does not always win! Look at beta versus VHS. Beta was superior and launched sooner. But due to various reasons, VHS dominated and killed Beta fairly quickly.

All that being said, Lucid is developing a pretty cool rep. They look lovely and have a better battery range than Tesla (at least for now). I would not be shocked if a Big 3 bought them out...or Toyota, who focused on hybrid cars for so long...

This guy is probably the last person you want to listen to about investing, he was saying to invest in all the bubble stocks in 2021, and they all dropped 80-90%.

That is true, but there is a lot of good stuff too. I never take anybody’s word, but use different sources and take different viewpoints to make up my decisions.

Lucid will not see $100 anytime soon....this stock was trading at $47 almost 2 years ago... xpev on the other hand is probably lower in value and less superior but it has the support of Chinese market....

Xpeng has no real market, Tesla's model 3 is around the same price but better than their model P7
I don't know anyone that would buy an Xpeng over a Model 3 if they were the same price, on top of that xpeng is unprofitable and has near 0 margins, there is no thesis to invest in that company, along with Nio, with China being in a recession, I don't think it will survive.

Lucid Motors only has one thing going for it, and that is better engineering, also they have some partnerships that may be in the works. I'd say Lucid has the best shot right now at beating Tesla, the best engineering always wins in the end, there's a reason Elon offered to buy Lucid Motors.

Oh there's no doubt Lucid could beat Tesla in terms of quality. I've seen those Lucid cars....I have lucid stocks....I just don't have high hopes for it as of the moment. I got in at $6.20, I will sit on it for 10 years and see where it takes me. But I have doubts about their management....Xpeng don't have a great fleet but you have a better shot at making money if you got in at the right time....I got in at $9 and i'm almost doubling....i won't stay long on it....EV is still a volatile...I like the plays and the dips are coming...I bought some of the worst of them and still made money...I watched MULN split at $1.50 and dropped to $0.10....got in and now it's trading at $0.23 cents....shorters like EV plays too so keep an eye out.

Nice, the way things are going i think xpeng and nio are going to go bankrupt, along with a few other american EV companies, the have no margins, no product, no business plan, it's a good idea but none of it is actually working. Nio sells expensive cars that are worse than Tesla and Xpeng sells cheap cars that are also worse than Tesla.

The only one that seems to have a chance is Lucid because of it's superior engineering. Worst case its a <5% loss on my portfolio, but could also easily be a 100% return.

I dont think you will take a loss on Lucid if your entry point is $5+...so much upside but it's really more dormant right now....this could blow up anytime...i'm long on Lucid and like to play some volatile stocks on the side...my other position was SOFI which I got in at $4 and is now trading $8 and AMD and I got in at $60

I was surprised Sofi went to $10, it's valuation from MIT metrics only makes it worth around $5 (+/- $1) from a challenger bank valuation, although could be pricing in the future + rev growth from student loan forgiveness/repayments.
AMD is an interesting company, george hotz keeps complaining about it's drivers not being done well, I wonder if they will fix that, Nvidia in my opinion is a better GPU company, of course, both being overvalued now from the AI hype.

I don't have many longs right now, pretty hard to go long with valuations this rich. GIC's, puts on stocks like C3AI and very small positions in some high growth stocks like fintech/EV for me.

I actually sold all my Lucid Motor shares today, not seeing much liquidity in the options market for it to go much higher and indices look like they're due for a short term pullback.

An old friend of mine who used to own a hedge fund told me to buy Intellia stock, another long term play buy told me its a double in the next 1-2 years so I have a bit of money in that company too.

Saw a video on TikTok who recommended buying it because it hit its ATL recently. Looks like short-term traders pounced on the low priceas. Just checked and earnings report is early August; if you're up, I would probably sell before earnings at the latest.

I don't listen to him only when making decisions to buy stocks. He and others are always pushing risky stocks. But there are a lot of interesting and informative points that they make, and I use that information. They actually helped me a lot in buying and selling some stocks, after consulting with other sources as well. Also, I enjoy watching Meet Kevin's analsyis on economic news such as CPI, labor data, etc. May not be for everyone, I know, but to me it's 80% entertainment.

Actually if you're a short term trader you don't want to buy stocks at ATL, because of how liquidity works, usually if you do that, the stock will just keep going lower.

it depends on the stock; if you're talking small cap then certainly, but popular stocks (not referring to meme like bed bath beyond), traders will tend to buy when they're oversold ( think of rallies that have happened recently)

Yes, you're right, any mega cap would be fine to buy when they're oversold.
