I think that the police should know.
you mean like this police chief?

It should also be noted, acouple years before that both Mark Saunders and former TPScheif Bill Blair were caught lying red handed about the number of domestically sourced crime guns. Have been looking for both their lies and their backpedaling when the truth came out but it took a freedom of information request. It’s 5-6 years old now so.
A) hard to find
B ) damage done. Most uniformed Canadians…

and should also be noted almost all police chiefs think bans would be useless now.

So again, I ask you. After 30 years of this. Doing nothing abou the the problem. Whose hands are the blood on?

that would be “you”

I am against guns, but am for self-defense. I find it ridiculous that a woman (or man) can't even legally carry mace or pepper spray, or any kind of defense. That law should be changed. But I think people are afraid it will open a can of worms.
This is why I will gladly accept the charge against me. I’m not going to get assaulted, raped, robbed - I’m just not. I will go to jail instead.

Something else most Canadians don’t know/understand. Contrary to popular belief we can use firearms to defend ourselves. The police will charge you with everything they can ( unsafe storage etc) and you will go bankrupt in the process. Most likely after years the charges dropped or acquitted.

And that was in 2019. In 2022, Trudeau went ahead anyway.

The most informed individuals... police chiefs... the people that have access to the data, frontline officers, the actual physical evidence... are ignored in favor of political posturing by mayors and prime ministers. The politicians are who Joe Blow Canadian pays attention to and is easily convinced by, hence the regurgitation of said posturing in this thread. When challenged on it, they've got nothing. But that doesn't stop them from doubling down on being wrong. Just like it didn't stop Trudeau from rolling out the ban.

Their position on guns is unrealistic and static... it hasn't moved a dime for decades while the entire world has evolved.

Mark Saunders caught lying. Notice the backpedaling just months later?

/edit
I’ve been searching for Bills Blair’s and Mark Saunders claims that 75% of crime guns were domestically sourced. But that article is from 2019 and wow what an about Red faced turn around. Want to say the lies and “straw man purchases” was around 2016 or shortly after the Liberals came into power. And a couple years later the FoI that revealed them for the Liars they were/are.

this is from the gun lobby. No doubt some will discount out of hand.

I am so tired of this shit, and the blood on the streets. Damn right it’s on the left hands and those that…Gun owners have been screaming for 30 years…..to deal with the problem.

Aim directly into the eyes followed by a quick and hard kick to the groin then run. ;)

Off-topic but today I was watching an episode of Animal Kingdom and a drug dealer was forcing a young lady to either pay the $1000 she owed or suck his dick. He forced her onto the couch and again repeated pay or suck. What nutbag fucker in his right mind would ever force an unwilling girl to suck his dick?? I would never put my best friend into a mouth full of teeth where he's unwanted!!!!!

People didn't smile in photos before the modern era.

.

Enough lessons for you today. I didn't know I was signing up to be a online professor when registering a TERB account.
You are not teaching anyone anything unless they are gullible and unaware of the statistics with gun control vs no or lesser gun control.

And just so you know ....I was raised in a house with guns , shooting pellet guns at the age of 5 , handling rifles and shot guns at the same age , shooting them by the age of 8 and hunting with my dad and grandfather at that same age .

Gun control and rules have been shown to work as well as restrictions on magazines .
As a kid we used to laugh at people hunting with more than 3 bullets as I meant they were unsure of their skills or simply a bad shot...and that has not changed.

As mentioned I am pro GC….so long as it makes sense. The problem here in Canada, is……

Most uniformed Canadians have no clue about the foot pounds/kinetic energy and accuracy of a 12 gauge using slugs….out to 150yards…..

They also don’t know all shotguns can accept 5 in the tube. We gun owners plug them so 3 max. But we could remove that plug at any time. Say if we wanted to go into a school and rack up a body count and unleash actual horror, of both kids/teachers and Leo with body armour.

but hey. Fear those semis in .223

What definition of gun control are you using?

Canadian gun control and regulations as they were a year ago or similar. The new Restricted firearms rules bill c-21 introduced lately went overboard and were unnecessary as the previous law prove to be sufficient to curtail mass shootings, most accidental shootings and even suicidal attempts if you compare with the US.

The US is too far gone at this point . Their only hope is to reign in the magazines if any possible and even that looks impossible.

Looking at the mentality in the US these days about guns and discussing with American friends from the South ..,it amazes me the amount of fear that they carry with them on a daily bases when going anywhere.

Fear triggers the impulsive purchase of more guns in the hope to turn into a Jason Bourne on cue when feeling in danger which is quite the opposite of reality . Reasons : lack of skills , practice, nervousness, bad selection of firearm and training in general.

Sidebar: Canada sees around 4500 suicides yearly. The USA sees around 48000 suicides yearly. That's approximately 10 times the amount.

Behold, the USA is approximately 10 times the population size of Canada.

When people want to die, they find a way. It's not about guns.

The US has many different guns laws across many States. Some are very restrictive and others are less restrictive.

You may think that the new Canadian gun rules went overboard however that won't stop even further restrictive rules from being introduced. It's not a matter of if but when. Canada is too far-gone in this direction.

The Americans I know don't express any significant level of fear in their daily lives.

They used it as a tool to fight off the British,...
You realize the constitution was written after the war with the Brits right? My view is the 2nd was mainly an economic matter, saving the states from having to pay for arming their militias.

81% of Americans believe in the right to keep and bear arms.
Roughly 51% support more gun control. That has actually fallen a few points in recent years.
Neither major political party is supporting legislation that balances those 2 positions.

But we know fox is so woke so we can ignore them.

without googling it. Do you know roughly how many firearms are privately owned in Canada? I’m guessing you would be surprised.
...
Many of us discussing this are reasonably informed. Part of the lesser violence here is the view of long guns as a tool and significant restrictions on hand guns. Add in universal background checks, capacity limits....

Yep, and how many of those were traced to gang bangers and smuggling. “Case closed”
And not a surprise that when presented with the cold hard uncomfortable truth, that the blood on our streets is your fault. For being ignorant, gullible, and where/how/why you cast your vote.
/tuck tail and run..
...
Yes, most gun violence, both here and the states is gang related. Not sure why you're blaming everyone else for that. And what government do you think would stop criminal violence?

Of course this thread and many others from the US are about non-gang involved shootings where someone shoots the neighbour kids for playing in their yard, someone knocking on their door, or mass shooters going out to try and kill as many people as possible.
