I thought going tits up tonight means Putin is going to be utterly
defeated tomorrow. I guess a defeated Russia doesn't have to sink
into chaos, it can still remain stable like it was before the invasion.
The military objective of NATO and the U.S. is to weaken Russia not
to destroy it.
YES YES of course because it was the US and Nato that convinced/tricked Putin it would be a great idea to invade Ukraine, YES, how can I be so dense man!!!!

Left wingers on TERB should be glad to know right wingers are
on their side when it comes to the Ukraine war though they may
not be as generous as the lefties in making donation to Zelensky.

Prigozhin isn't any better than Putin as far as the west is concerned.

So we have a man with nothing to lose now, back against the wall, wirh 25,000 trained fighters also with nothing to lose(the ex-cons and hard core guys know this is it) about 250 miles from Moscow.

If he decides to fight this out, in a major city, it will get spectacularly ugly. Putin will have to pull troops from Ukraine, he has already stripped his other reserves.

As somebody pointed out. Prigozhin may be just setting himself up as a fall guy. All Putin has to do is kill him and his band of merry men will just sort of fizzle out.
If things start to unravel more for Putin, in the Ukraine, he might be inclined to send a nuclear parting shot their way.

There are reports that Putin has fled Moscow and Lukashenko has fled Belarus.

ROTFLMFAO!!! Oh, btw. See what's going on in Russia? THAT'S HOW INSURRECTION LOOKS LIKE.

So, what does this mean for Ukraine and the West? Good, bad, same?

That is assuming the soldiers with their hands on the trigger will follow his order.

The key now is what will the Russian army do. Protect Putin or join the rebels?

It could be good for Ukraine if sanctions against Wagner group
and Prigozhin are lifted.

Probably good, this chaos has the potential to significantly hamper the Russian effort in Ukraine. Tho a lot of uncertainty. In the unlikely event of a successful coup/ overthrow of Putin, Pirgozhin is no better and possibly way worse.

Prigozhin is way worse but I'd expect he'll end the war in Ukraine.
The question is whether he declares the war done and Donbas and Crimea as Russian or if he retreats further.

Putin is done, regardless.

Completely unknown. But, if I was the head of the Ukrainian Army, I'd launch an offensive at 4 AM tomorrow morning. This is the opportunity they've been waiting for.

Unless the Wagner fighters are joined by many in the regular army, I cannot see them having much of a chance. They are mostly infantry and have no air or artillery capabilities.

They are 25,000 against the regular army of 1,000,000.

It's very true. But, what's also true is that the Russian command will be seating on their hands watching Moscow for the next couple of days....trying to figure out which way the wind blows.

Isn't the 1,000,000 almost entirely unhappy conscripts? Is Putin (like Stalin) waiting for the 1mm men Siberian Army to bail him out?

The Russian Revolution 1.0 started with 13 men (and 1 woman).

Yeah, that's what I'm hearing. If he seizes power, Russia will not be a Jeffersonian democracy but he will likely end the war in Ukraine.
