I wonder if they had drawn lots so that all but one killed themselves, it would give the remaining one 5 times as much oxygen.

Taxpyers also pay for the health care costs of smokers, obese people. The list goes on forever, we all use government services that could have been avoided, and that others pay for and don't use.
Maybe…but then where are all the government services for that boat of 500 migrants that sank in the Mediterranean?

And, as far as “taxpayers” go,, do these billionaires even pay any taxes? Or are the rest of us picking up the tab for their arrogant thrill-seeking?

You're telling me, if offered, you'd turn down a trip to the space station? I don't believe you.
Yep, I would. Unless I had a meaningful reason to go there.
There are enough interesting places to go as tourists without risking my own life and those of others. I don't believe in the extreme level of exceptionalism.

This year I am among other places going to Nordkap and Petra.

These are some more comments about the quality of the Logitech controller.

Apparently the Logitech is a cheap, unreliable device which raises the question that if he cut corners on something as basic and integral to the sub as this then what other corners did he cut?
Which agency in the world certified this sub as being sea worthy ?
Was it pressure tested for depths of 13,000 feet ?
This craft is in the same category as a boat carrying immigrants. Uncertified and unsafe.
Another con game gone wrong. Unfortunate for the victims and their families.

I know you hate rich people, but USA and Canada (who are doing the bulk of the rescue operation) have a combined population of about 380 million people.
So if the Titan rescue operation costs $50 million (just a ballpark figure) that works out to $7.60 per person.
You're seriously squabbling over 7 dollars and 60 cents??

Tax payers also pay the salaries of worthless crooked politicians.

When a boat full of migrants sink it only gets a minute of coverage.
Lets look at the tax code and see how much taxes the top 1% pay compared to the working class.

Maybe if the billionaires kicked in their own $7.60 I’d feel differently…but under the circumstances I think I’d rather spend my $7.60 on a 3 Litre bag of soy milk.

You are missing the point completely.

We are closing ER left and right because we cannot afford to provide emergency service to Canadians.

Should tax payers also not pay for physically handicapped children because their mothers were smokers or addicts?
Think about what you are saying.

Where did I say that?
"You guys should give the passengers a break. Who among us wouldn't take the seat if we could? And 250k ain't that much for billionaires. I would gladly take a ride into the Mariana Trench or a trip to the space station. Both, extremely dangerous trips, even in Piccard's bathyscaphe. And if you die in the process, we'll, you got to die of something, eventually."

I guess I misunderstood

How's this for irony, wife of submersible pilot is the descendant of 2 passengers that died in the Titanic sinking.
