Is shaving your balls really necessary?

I am finding I am getting bumps from shaving and one has actually turned into a skin tag. I follow good shaving practices and use a post shave skin tonic. Any way to remove it and prevent this from happening?
The bumps = a case of razor burn. Ouch..been there done that when I first started.
You're pressing too hard or the razor blade is dull or plugged. Personally I'd avoid the skin tonic, just ordinary warm soapy water, with a warm water rinse or a warm wet washcloth & then dry.

Shaving the scrotum is more difficult because the skin needs to be pulled tight. A foil shaver is more forgiving than a razor. You can try a wax or laser hair removal clinic, though it will be a bit painful.

For the skin tag, go to your family doctor or walk-in clinic. They'll burn it off either with liquid nitrogen or a chemical. If the skin tag is large, they could refer you to a dermatologist, though appointment lead times are long.

Need to have a steady hand ;) and sharp blade...I keep things shaved close down there as just like the overall feeling and most importantly, I "look" bigger ;).

I've been doing it, but not sure if it's worth the risk. How can you do it safely.

I only do it as a courtesy. Should I bother?
I really enjoy BLS. I can and do it with or without hair but I have to admit, a smooth pair are appreciated.

Some men don’t have a choice because they are married and the wife would ask if they started. So I get it.

But for those who can - sure. Do it.

Most men who lurk here do not get sex at home or lost interest like the wife who is also no longer interested.
Shaving ones family jewels should not pose a problem. No wife is going to do an inspection when the man leaves the house.

Only women shave down there. Just a short trim is fine.
Based on some of the comments, I'd say on the Pareto chart of things down there, hygiene is likely far and above the most important.

are you shaving upward (against the grain)? Maybe stick to downward only until your skin gets more accustomed to shaving. That was the issue in my case, and after a while my skin became so used to it that I now get that completely smooth shave.

Also, don’t use scented post shave product, use an unscented lotion if you need it. I don’t recall the why, but remember reading that.

^Same principle as shaving your face:

With a foil shaver you go against the grain.

With a razor you sweep your hand against the grain so the shaving cream holds the hairs up, then move the blade with the grain to avoid irritation.

Your place!!
I remember one of my first encounters with an escort, (I’m quite a hairy guy), she said, it’s not very nice getting a mouth full of hair when going down on the goalies stick and balls, so I’ve been shaving them ever since. I’ve found a razor marketed for the ladies works best!

Use a dull razor. When I notice a razor doesn't work on my face as well anymore, then it's safe enough to use on the boys. I shave them regularly even if I'm not sexually active. Haven't cut myself in many many years. Just do yourself a favor and only trim the hair around everywhere else and not straight razor, or you just feel/look like a pre-pubescent teenager. (not a turn on for many women)
Full razors are more likely to cause knicks. 😬

Use a deposable razor. (I avoid those ten bladed ones personally)

don’t use electric clippers. Soft stretching skin can get vacuumed up by anything with RPM’s

A woman told me that when she was younger, she had hair down to her knees. I asked her where this hair started from.

I 100% recommend shaving completely down there. Hair in THAT region tends to get very dirty. I have personally noticed that SPs tend to be way more inclined to do DP and spontaneously go for it when the sausage and eggs are silky smooth. But not so enthusiastic if there’s hair around that region. There’s also a chance that some hair can get in the SPs mouth and you have to watch her spit it out - I personally wouldn’t want anyone’s pubic hair in my mouth and don’t want my gorgeous SP to suffer through that.

If you’re already shaving down there, the I suggest you continue on with it. Just lather up with some sensitive shaving foam and use a disposable 2 blade razor. It will come right off -as easy as it gets!
