I think it can be due to the following:

1)increased chemicals in environment from pesticides, chemicals in food
2)people not eating healthy in general (no vegetables/fruits)
3)people using drugs, smoking, not exercising

I'm 59 and have done the F.I.T. twice now.
Next notice I get for getting tested I'll get the colonoscopy. That's good for 10 years I believe.

I wonder whatever happened to the test they were working on in which you swallow a small camera that takes video of your colon.

Depends. I am 40 and I have gotten 2 colonoscopies. The first time I got it done in 2019, and they found 2 tubular adenomas. They were the kind of polyps that could turn into cancer. So since they were 1.1cm wide, they asked me to get a repeat procedure 3 years later. I did this in April this year, all clear, except for a small 3mm hyperplastic polyp which is the kind that never turns into cancer. Doctor now says this last colonoscopy is good for 7 to 10 years.

That still exists. It is called capsule endoscopy but it is mostly used for seeing the small intestine.

My doctor says there is now a stool sample test that also detects polyps on the colon haven't done it yet but it certainly beats a colonoscopy

I am too scare to take these tests, afraid of what I'm going to find out. But it's the right thing to do, especially as we age.

Not exactly sure what the problem is with a colonoscopy? Other than the time before when you’re taking the stuff to clear you out lol. They put you out and do the job. I’ve had two and it’s no big deal IMHO.

I know some people who've been injured by a routine colonoscopy, they were cut on the inside and developed a bad infection.

I wonder if it has anything to do with young people more likely to lick an asshole?

Whatever happened to virtual colonoscopy? It is non-invasive.

If you're at or close to 50 or have a history of colon cancer in your family you should be getting colonoscopy's done every 5 years. Its one of the most treatable cancers if detected early enough.
