Um, these clinics do not charge extra to patients. Extra billing is illegal and easily traced and reported. Its that simple. There is a price schedule that all providers adhere to. And that's it.
Tee-hee, tee-hee ......

Of course, they don't Mr. School Hall monitor.

Wrong.

It took a deliberate underfunding of health services to create an artificial "crisis", which the government then can "solve" by privatization.

The oldest playbook.
apparently a playbook followed by the left
did you forget the 15 years of granny wynne & dalton the dummy

ontarios health care spending is unsustainable

you want
free health care for all
free education for all

no doubt you also want govt to pick up the tab for
day care
prescription drugs
drugs for addicts
transit subsidies
electric vehicle subsidies
affordable housing
guaranteed minimum income
etc, etc, etc

you demand all this without giving a single thought to who is going to pay for all of it

There was a detailed report on a hernia(?) clinic just north of Toronto. They charged OHIP rates for the actual surgery but refused patients that wouldn't stay multiple days in recovery which was not covered.
Yup, and they were busted right? I didn't say it can't happen, just that its very easy for a person to bust their asses.

Show me proof of rampant extra billing.
When the provincial gov't has decided to pay the private operators a premium of up to 50% for surgeries performed in their clinics as opposed to the same surgeries performed in the publicly funded hospitals then the whole 'set up', 'scheme', and/or flim-flam scam is rampant, extra billing.

I wished the Canadian Conservatives were as honest as the American Republicans and would say that they do not want to pay for poor peoples health care.

Instead they hide their objectives and try to change our system on the sly.

I remember a primary debate in 2016 between 8 or so republican candidates. They were asked what should happen to a person without health insurance that fell seriously ill on the road.
7 of them, including Ron Paul who is a medical doctor, answered that the person should just die. The ONLY one who disagreed and said that he should be given medical care, was Donald Trump.

I remembered Trump promising "the best healthcare" during his 2016 campaign. I remember in 2018 when he was asked about delivering on "the best healthcare" and Trump responded with "Who knew healthcare was so hard". I also remember that in his 2020 campaign, he again promised the exact same shit.

I wished the Canadian loonie left were just plain honest
they demand
free health care for all

day care
prescription drugs
drugs for addicts
transit subsidies
electric vehicle subsidies
affordable housing
guaranteed minimum income
etc, etc, etc

without giving a a rational / realistic plan for paying for all of it
the public purse is not bottomless & there will be a tipping point which will be disastrous for all

The plan is easy.
Tax the rich, tax the oil&gas industry, tax foreign corporations.

By the way, your list is very popular among Canadians.

They're still running, they're still insisting on a three night stay and they're still billing for the stay. Where did you imagine they were busted?

That's dumb. We demand that the government use taxpayer money to support the needs of society so people can access essential services without having to declare bankruptcy.

The asshole right simply want the government to give them everything they want without paying taxes and want everyone who isn't them to get nothing.

Acknowledging the reality on the ground is joining the " looniebin"? The private delivery of health-care has always been a huge part of our system in Ontario. Your family doctor delivers his services that way, the dentist, your labs, almost all physio services, pharmacies, etc. I'm all for privatizing the delivery of health services as long as we keep the single payer scheme in place, so no one is excluded. Take the political blinders off.
