Does anyone understand this "sport"?? I think its the dumbest shit ever.
People actually pay money to go see this nonsense, and many of them seem to think its real.

Jeezus christ, what a bunch of losers :D

Its like a soap opera but a jock version. Can't blame them, I use to watch it religiously as a kid even staying up Saturday Nights to watch Saturday Night's Main Event - but I did stop watching once I found out how fake it was around grade 9 or 10. :ROFLMAO:

The Attitude Era and the first part of the Ruthless Aggression era from around 1995 to 2005 was simply the best.

Wrestling is scripted but the injuries are real. There was a wrestling school across from Maple Leaf Gardens owned by Andre Rousimoff so I tried the training. I couldn't stand the pain, couldn't sleep from the rope burns on my back.

When I came to Toronto, Maple Leaf Wrestling was the only game in town. I followed it until Eddie Guerrero died, the toll the sport takes on the body is unforgiving. I'm not sure if merging WWE with UFC is good for the wrestlers...they may need to unionize to protect themselves.

One of my friends in elementary school was the son of Jack Curran, who worked for the CTV affiliate in Montreal, (CFCF-12). Jack was the weatherman on the 6 o'clock news, he was the late afternoon DJ on CFCF radio, and one of the announcers for Grand Prix Wrestling on Saturday afternoon, so I knew that wresting was staged when I was in grade 5.

When I was younger, Whipper Billy Watson lived up the street from me, and he gave out the best candy on Halloween.

When I lived in Parkdale, Sweet Daddy Siki was one of my neighbours...he was still ripped.

Shaq loves wrestling, he worked very hard to be part of it. He recently had hip replacement surgery - his wrestling career is over.

I don’t think most of the fans think it’s real. But I can enjoy it for the action. I mean, doing that stuff in a way that looks really real, but doesn’t (usually) result in a significant injury is impressive. The story lines can get really stupid, but people like them. It’s like a soap opera for men.
However, apparently the WWE wants to get approval to allow people to bet on match outcomes…which seems really stupid. They say they can keep the outcomes a secret until minutes before the match begins (like they won’t tell the performers who’s going to win), but lord knows there WILL be abuses.

Leimonis that's harsh, are you a golfer?

When I read the title to the film The Banshees of Inisherin, I thought Becky Lynch was transitioning to acting. The Rock, John Cena and Dave Bautista have all done it. This should be fun! Trish's kids are of school age now, she's doing more wrestling.

Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus could be the main event at Summerslam.

Wrestling when it was still WWF was good, have to admit it was pretty funny shit like DX and the APA. But the script and characters now days are just junk. If you know it, wrestling is just like any other soap and gets boring after a few seasons. Just out of curiosty LoLrus, do you know the philosophy of wrestling? Because when people say its fake (which it is) they dont understand the background of it.

The Wrath of Kuntar Cometh....be afraid, be very afraid!

I've been watching GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) it's a hoot. The show stars Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin and stand up comic Marc Meron in the Vince McMahon role. It's worth checking out if you haven't already.
