Why don’t you just cut the tourism budget with the arts and culture and make Toronto completely unaffordable with no reason to live or visit there?
It'd be great! for car and especially tank-sized SUV drivers from suburban hellscapes always bitchin' and whining about "there is a micro-EV vehicle with a latte sipping pencil necked geek in the way of my 10,000lb pickup on the southbound DVP!"

Not sure of everything that is in the tourism budget, but I suspect it is targeted to generate tourism business and that, as a result, it generates more revenue for the city than it costs. If I'm wrong, then by all means cut that budget.

I don't care if people visit Toronto unless it generates revenue for city businesses, and by extension, supports the tax base.

One of the things I like about Andrew Furey is and I paraphrase:

We will not allow a few lefty woke activists tell us how to run the city.

Now that's Dutchie's kinda mayor!
Doing nothing is not the objective, because there is a lot of room for improvement in this city, but, ironically, you are right to point out that "do-nothing" mayors outperformed Miller and would be better than many of the current candidates. Some of the candidates that you like can only make a right turn by making three successive lefts!

Speaking of records, Tory's smart track looks worse and worse every day.
1.2 billion to pay for a line that is provincial jurisdiction. Its Metrolinx and GO and Ford should be paying the entire bill.
Source for the above please.

Chris Saccoccia (Sky) is running and has the vote of the "Fringe Minority with unacceptable views"....who will likely turn out to vote in record numbers given how sick and tired people have become with the corrupt status quo. Only approx 1/4 of the Toronto population turn out to vote. Of that 1/4....Sky could easily take the majority.

Olivia Chow is in.
Post Chow election win:

"U know folks, as I was baking cupcakes at my FordNation compound kitchen in Edenbridge, a thought just hit me. The mayor of Toronto really does not need any strong mayor powers at all and therefore I will be introducing legislation to revoke the strong mayor powers I previously granted to the mayor of Toronto and install my hand-picked puppet and administration to do my bidding in the City of Toronto. Sincerely yours, from your folksy ordinary Joe Premier, Douglas Ford."

The link below is almost a week old but still very useful.

I like Rob "don't waste time and money on changing street signs" Davis. Unfortunately, he might be too intelligent and rational for lefty/wokie Toronto.

I also like Mark "make Toronto safe again" Saunders but I fear he might be too intelligent and rational for lefty/wokie Toronto.

Her problem is that only people with no money to give her and who tend not to bother voting think she's a good idea for mayor. And those people are right (about not giving her money and not voting, just not the other part)!

In her hands, any mayoral powers are "Wrong mayor powers" (maybe Doug could claim the bill contains a typo that needs correcting?).

Mitzie Hunter almost in. It's going to be a crowded field.
Great. A person who got an MBA only to work exclusively in the not-for-profit sector and then as a politician. An expert in spending other people's money.

Question, if an Ontario Liberal leaves their caucus, does anyone hear? LOL!

Lets see where the money lands. But considering the state of the streets I'm pretty sure a conservative will win.
