Glen Greenwald:

Every US enemy is Hitler. Every country neocons in both parties want to go to war with is Nazi Germany. There are no other historical events that exist.

Thus, you either support every new bipartisan war and be Glorious Churchill, or oppose it and get condemned as Chamberlain.
Absolutely spot on.

Actually it has been Putin and the Maga crwod that has been referring to Zelensky and the Urianians as nazis. not the other way around. I keep asking. Should Ukraine just capitulate?
I don't think Putin actually sees Zelensky as a nazi. Whether his judgement
is right or not I think Putin probably believe he is rooting out nazi elements
in parts of Ukraine.

Depending on what you mean by capitulation I think both
sides should cease fire when such opportunity comes up.

The Ukrainians do have a nazi problem. But so do the Russians to be fair.

Whether or not he sees him that way look at his rhetoric and for that matter look at MJT and the gang. A cease fire would just preserve the status quo which gives Putin Crimea and a large swath of Ukraine.

Except for all the times you have justified Russia invading Ukraine because Ukraine was more friendly to with EU.
Nope never did that.

...
I doubt it. Putin (though aging and sickness may be making him more paranoid) knows a lot about using propaganda to control his people and the useful fools overseas.

And I'm sure he knows about Prigozihn's SS tattoos.

It is obvious a ceasefire would not bring peace as Ukraine would
do what they can to recapture lost territories. There is still a bright
side to any deal that brings the conflict in the battlefield to a halt.
I think with planning and fortification deterrence against future
invasion of Ukraine and other NATO members could be assured.
In a way expansion of Russia to the west is done after the war.

So sacrifice Ukraine?

It's sad that you don't know what was previously posted using that handle.
I never once said it was justified. I infact said NOT justified. Maybe you missed the word "not" or chose to simply ignore it.

To my knowledge no peace deal let alone ceasefire agreement
can restrain either side from fighting the other in the future. Think
the peace deal of Henry Kissinger in the Vietnam War. North Korea
were at peace with South Korea in the decades following the war
so there is reason to be optimistic.

This makes no sense at all. A peace deal would mean each side agreeing to cease hostilities.

A Ceasefire is always preferable to continued fighting. It is the first step to starting negotiations about ending the war, and does not dictate the outcome of the negotiations.

In my view, only rabid warmongers are against a ceasefire.

We live in a world where peace has to be maintained and sometimes
enforced in face of hostility.

North Korea is unfriendly if not hostile towards South Korea.
Nonetheless the north and south have been at peace with each
other to this day.

We can only hope that mutual hostility is not going to escalate
into another war.

They want Russia to lose. They could care less about what happens to Ukraine. But ask them and they will tell you how much their heart bleeds for Ukraine.

And only those naive enough to believe that Putin will just put down his guns without being emboldened could believe that a simple ceasefire is possible. Those if the Neville Chamberlain school of international diplomacy.
