I have no idea if he will be caharged and if he is whether he will be convicted. If charged he is entitled to due procees like anyone else. But if a jury was to find him guilty that would necessarily negate any suggestion that it was just a mistake. Tax evasion is a serious crime, if proved. There are I would guess thousands of peole in prison for having attempted to evade less and their defenses were likely very muchg the same.

I think Trump might be made of IPE/Brazillian Walnut wood though...

With the exception of born-again Christians, I tend to respect those who renounce their previous bad decisions, associations and try to make amends for their previous actions etc. And I tend to give some weight to what they say. Especially, when the objective facts and evidence align with what they are saying.

I reckon I am surprised how many of my conservative mates seem to not recognize that facts and evidence matter. They're all in on locking up Hilary for crimes they imagined, or minor offences like her server (on par w Biden and Pence in their classified docs issue. Trumps docs issue is way different because not only did he take them out on his way out (they weren't left over from meetings where he was president) but he refused to turn them over, then lied about having them and turning them over. 100% obstruction of justice.
