Adam Giambrone was also caught in a sex scandal.

"He remained a leading candidate until February 9, when the Toronto Star published an interview with undergraduate student Kristen Lucas, who revealed that she had a past sexual relationship with Giambrone, including acts in his city office.[27] Giambrone apologized for an "inappropriate relationship" and admitted to intimate relationships with women other than his live-in partner, to whom he is now married.[28] In the immediate wake of the revelations, Giambrone initially pledged to continue with his mayoral campaign,[27] but announced his withdrawal the following day."

Holyday is still exploring but I think he will go for it once the Conservative money settles on him. They are only going to run one person and he has the connections.

Met him once, seemd like a down to earth not too much bs politico- full disclosure, he's my councilor. If Tory, Ford and Miller could run the city, we can do worse than Holyday.

The Chief (Mark Saunders) is in.
This one is truly 'out to lunch'.

He knows about as much about the 'public realm' as he does about the former public lands of Ontario Place.

Mark Saunders, Doug's hand-picked 'Special Advisor' puppet for Ontario Place and it's handover to a private corporation with the added bonus and incentive of hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies to lock out a major portion of taxpayers from these once public lands and soon to be private lands. Just for that, Saunders should resign from hs puppet appointment.

Furey has now supplanted Holyday as the best candidate, but it still isn't looking good. He opened his campaign by announcing a tax hike. First of all, if it's all about replacing infrastructure, it should be a limited time levy, and not a tax hike that will go on forever and become waste. Second, if there was nothing done about infrastructure for 2 years during Covid (as he claims), what were all the public servants assigned to that function doing? Maybe our public works department is a lot larger than it needs to be! Lastly, there is no capacity in an underperforming economy to ask citizens for more money. It's time to make some tough decisions and reallocate the budget to the more essential areas - like infrastructure, and away from the luxury items, like arts and cultural funding.

In other words, still no reliable and responsible person with a good grasp of city economics and finance has emerged. Just a weird menagerie of people running based on ego, not on service to taxpayers.

Agreed, albeit for slightly different reasons. Experience in cajoling the city into overspending on policing is no background for controlling expenditures or, more importantly, improving city revenue without hurting taxpayers. To your point, Ontario Place should have been redeveloped into a revenue generating municipal property long ago. Anyone attached to that debacle has demonstrated an absence of vision and leadership.

Yesh, you don't want anyone but a city sapping conservative to continue with the legacies of the tag team brother duo of Rub and Thug Ford and Long Dong Tory of guiding Toronto into a state of perpetual and intensifying decay.
but… but… by doing nothing he saved the city millions and millions!
