Or just click on the image button in the toolbar and paste the url in.
See this post from April, 2021:
at the time, I discovered that procedure through trial and error. I never considered it to be the only path to success.
Two years ago, the TERB toolbar didn't recognize the .gifv image file type. I hadn't attempted to insert one of them in a post recently.
@Valcazar, you can't paste a url into the popup box for insert image from the toolbar; you can select a file by browsing files/ folders, or you can drag and drop. As mentioned in my post which you quoted, the .gifv image file type is changed to .mp4 video file type if it's saved, and TERB has limitations for the sources for video links; I don't know if non-advertisers can insert a video from a source other than YouTube. I'm going to attempt your procedure, but with the insert video, rather than insert image button from the toolbar, dragging and dropping the .mp4 file. Here goes:
The .gifv file saved as .mp4 is 19.2 MB, well beyond the maximum size for a TERB forum post.
I have demonstrated that my method works, but there may be additional valid procedures, other than the method james t kirk used in post #1.
If your procedure works, but I didn't do it correctly, please demonstrate; the url of the image is displayed in post #9.
When I first posted #7, the image didn't appear until I clicked on the 'frame', but after I edited the post to add '(Click on the grey square)', it appeared. That's explained in the April 2021 link within this post.
