Actually, you might have issue with Fox' commentators, but their anchors play it fairly straight. ...
Again, follow the disclosure from the lawsuit. Tucker is entertainment but the whole network was/is pushing whatever alt-right conspiracy theories would make them money.

Sorry but it was the leftists who criticized Trump for politicizing the virus are responsible for politicizing the virus....somehow?
I am not sure this post helps much bc. It would seem you have no interest in knowing the origins of the virus.

bc, are you genuinely interested in the origins of the virus or do you have a boner for prosecuting Fox News?

Again, this was a virus that led to a global pandemic that killed millions and some of you are worried about what a news network said about voting machines.

That's a pretty stupid claim.

Since the very beginning, I've been in favour of following the scientific evidence and have criticized attempts to politicize it without evidence, especially as Trump and his idiot followers were claiming it was a manipulated virus intentionally released, even after the science showed that was extremely unlikely.

The reality is unless the Chinese government suddenly starts publicizing their confidential reports, we will likely have no conclusive evidence which is why I think it's dumb to push the political arguments. I've also been open since the start that the Chinese view on face will prevent them disclosing any information to others, even if it 100% exonerates them.

Provide evidence and I'll look. Until then, it's just obvious partisan attempts by people who swallowed Trumps claims to feel better about themselves.

p.s. pretty funny that you pretend to be in favour of accurate reporting yet you get really upset when someone points out that Fox has a lengthy history of promoting counter-factual stories simply for ratings.

The science doesn't back the claims. If you make an FOI request that provides some evidence, please share what you find. Until then, I'll follow what the science says.
Where is the evidence that the virus originated in the wet market or through some other spontaneous transfer?

Do you understand reason and evidence beyond the fact that you read something? It's not hard. If it seems like I'm trying to get you and others to dig beyond your natural inclinations and bias, yes I am. I'm not telling you what the answers are. I am simply telling you that perhaps you don't have the answers.

This is the smartest thing you, Knuckleball and others have acknowledged here even if it's a bit half-assed Western apologist bullshit. You are essentially saying we will never know because the Chinese will never cooperate. That really should be the conclusion of this thread.

I'm not sure why you are obsessed with Trump. His opinion never enters my thinking on any matter. Are you that vested in this line of thinking to think anyone who disagrees with your view must provide evidence when you cannot actually provide evidence of your own?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't the zoonotic transfer have initially occurred in the lab?
Sure.
Collect the sample, it infects someone at the lab, they spread it elsewhere.
A possibility.

But that's almost never what "lab leak" is used to refer to.
The bare minimum version usually involves gain of function research and it still gets used as a backdoor to engineered bioweapon.

The other version that happens really quickly is - as we saw on page 1 - that it was an intentional thing by the Chinese. (Which isn't a lab leak, obviously.)

This remains the big problem with discussing the evidence (or lack thereof) of the "lab leak" theory - it just doesn't mean the same thing to everyone and often is being deliberately used in bad faith.

There's almost no doubt that Covid-19 originated in the Wuhan lab- intentionally or not. What EVERYONE needs to start asking is why China is so hell bent on the zero covid policy? What do they know?

The reason the left pulled out all the stops against the wuhan lab leak theory early on is because 2020 was an election year in the US and they didn't want that to distract from orange man bad.
Except that wouldn't make a lot of sense.

"Trump failed completely in the face of a major Chinese attack" is just "ORANGE MAN EVEN WORSE THAN WE THOUGHT!".
There is no reason NOT to use that against him.

Remember, he was praising China a lot about how well they were handling the virus (this was back when he needed to get out of his trade war and otherwise suck up to China, if I recall).
So if it was a Chinese weapon or China doing something super bad and it fucking everyone over, everything about Trump's response becomes even worse and he becomes a bigger failure as President.

If the Dems were more cynical and ruthless, they would have been all over hyping the lab leak story to take Trump down.

Unless they have a 100% effective vaccine, I don't see how they can ever get it down to zero

Perhaps there is a comprehension issue for some who believe the "lab leak" theory.

I always thought with only conjecture to go on (no hard evidence available either way) you can see the risk of the Wuhan Labs sampling bat viruses from nearby caves. As we know, one lab technician can get infected with the novel virus, take it home and quickly a million Chinese are infected. Now the situation I described is not exactly an organic event.

Having said that, there appears to be a comprehension issue for some of what constitutes actual evidence.

Generally, I don't have a problem with people who like playing with themselves, but here I don't appreciate people editing other's posts to make a weak point.
