Money isn't the only thing that matters to people.
In the case of Scott Adam's, he's shown himself to be highly narcissistic, with claims of genius and high IQ. The demise of Dilbert in itself is likely quite a blow.
Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert comic strip, has been making low-key racist remarks for the longest time. Finally he decided to put aside all pretense and go on a tirade against black people.
He's now been dropped by hundreds of newspapers, including the syndicate that distributed his un-funny strips.
I think he went to MIT. Goes to show that smart people can be racist and stupid.
That statement sounds racist, but it's really just WACKO...

He created an anonymous account at Metafilter to vigorously defend and praise himself, as well as insult others. He referred to himself as having a "certified genius I.Q." It's not the first time he has created an account to defend himself. He has repeatedly talked about his IQ, which is self-reported to be 185.
There's a difference between intelligence and personality traits/disorder like narcissism.
They're all over this board and proud of their self-hatred. They really are a strange bunch.
