Thank goodness, failed liberals/lefties have ended up in Hamilton and Vaughan. Let's hope they stay out of Toronto.

I think Tory is/was a middle of the road realist. I guess that makes him a conservative in Canada.
I agree he is a sensible middle of the fence Conservative and that is why he got my vote.
Other than her beauty pageant days in 2012, there are few, if any, job related details involving Planning Director, Emily. She recently deleted or privatized her SM accounts, leaving one to ponder just what she was doing in the decade prior to blowing the mayor. How did they meet? How did Tory finesse her way into the mayors office?
Could this have been a sugar daddy arrangement gone awry? Was she an escort? He has always made dumb decisions in his business and political career, why should he be expected to have a stellar judgment in his personal life?

Well, that whole mess is likely to come up again. Except if anything it validates the huge conflict of interest he has.
Unless I'm not caught up on the news, what the Star decided not to publish were the individuals' name and place of employment. Spoiler alert: She now works for a Rogers company, which Tory likely arranged.
Interesting... reporter who first broke the story said they were originally tipped off before Christmas his marriage was in crisis. This was before they got the tips about his affair.
And Tory himself says the affair only ended this year, i.e. 2023 that is 43 days old.
Sounds like she was on City Hall staff from 2018 onwards presumably when she was 26 and he was 63, accompanying him on many international trips, etc. and ultimately ended up with a golden parachute at MLSE.
At this point it's not even left or right, democrat vs republican, conservative vs liberal, it's normal vs crazy.

Professions like doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc have a code of conduct that they must follow to stay licensed. Regular office workers also must follow a code of conduct, but it might not explicitly forbid having relations with a co-worker. I think this is the case with the city of Toronto. I've worked at a number of companies where co-workers are in a relationship, but they cannot be in the same department. There's no universal policy that applies to all organizations. They have nothing to do with the Charter and wouldn't violate it either.
Your company policy does not make any sense to me. How can they forbid physical contact in the office, but allow it at office parties? They may as well not have policies if there are exceptions like that. Who in their right mind would take their company to court because they can't make physical contact with a co-worker? I'm sure there are Lionel Hutz lawyers out there that would take such a case, but most would likely tell you not to proceed with a frivolous lawsuit.

Maybe or maybe not. I don't know any of them personally. Everyone deals with things how they see fit. Maybe you should be an image consultant for these guys since you know so much?
