There may a difference in the relative capabilities of men and women between the ability to endure sustained G forces (such as astronauts or fighter pilots may be exposed to) versus having the strength and reaction time to counteract short term but severe changes in G forces (what racing drivers experience). One interesting thing I read about was apparently the distance from the heart to the brain is less for women, which makes them better able to deal with G-forces. For example that made them lose consciousness slower than a man would in a fighter jet. Not sure how scientifically accurate this is, but that is what I read.
I know that F1 would LOVE to find a woman who could compete at that level, and have sponsored an entire women's racing series in order to find one, but so far no one has emerged.
