So, let's do an IQ test, Orry. You're a cop prosecuting a high level case against a multi millionaire "influencer" with access to media and hi price attorneys. What do you do before you lay the charge?...

You actually interview and get statements from all the witnesses, including those you say are victim-witnesses. Right?.... Somewhere all the vics have given statements on video to the police. If not, then you have ample wiretap and computer-file evidence to back up your allegations that these vics were controlled and compelled to work. Because you would be an implausibly incompetent cop if you didn't have this stuff.

So what is happening here?.... I suggest options:

1. The girls are fakes and are not the women the cops claim were victimized and they're there to muddy the waters as to whether Tate actually did what he is claimed to have done. This will allow the Tates to keep making money while the prosecution is going on.
2. They are actual victims who have been paid a LOT of money to recant their statements. (Or else they've been told that their friends and relatives might get the shit beaten out of them and their little pets disappear if they snitch and cooperate with the prosecution).

Both 1 and 2 are a lot more plausible than a cop who pulls the bust of his career without doing even basic legwork. I mean, what do you think cops do all day!? Eat donuts?!
Remember the average cop in the world is a high school drop out. Toronto cops much better than Romaina cops have high school degrees and are basically security guards with guns.
Fuck one reason cops in Ontario arrested convicted and railroaded a murder suspect later proven innocent was because he was teen who listened to classical music. Any teen who listens to classical music must be demented and the the case began . . .

The myth of the semi intelligent cop is discussed on John Oliver

They succed because of team work brute force, luck and a few actually very clever cops who don't leave in disgust.

I think you debunked mandrill's point, although I think you were trying to defend it?

Mandrill's point: cops are smart, do leg work and are careful before laying charges, and do proper vetting.
Your point: cops are dumb. They arrest, convict, and railroad innocent people all the time even here in Ontario, let alone a third world shithole like Romania

But what about the prosecutor and the judge? Are they stupid too?

And wouldn't the smarter cops be assigned to detective work re a high profile subject?

I don't agree that cops are stupid btw. Some are. Most are smart enough and some of the motherfuckers are very smart indeed! :ROFLMAO: :geek: 😸 😹 :D 😺 🐸

You have question your moral compass when even the Taliban understands right from wrong better than you do.
Okay, sure LMAO.

You keep going with the Taliban's moral compass. If you watch the clip below you will see why the love Tate and Tates image and views.

Yep no charges laid as of yet. Romanian officials are holding him on suspicion but haven't shown any clear evidence.

The great Michael Franzese lays it all out here in his usual neutral fashion.
This guy is hilarious. He is basing his whole argument on what he has researched on youtube and social media; as if the authorities are going to publish the details of their investigation? The Romanian Judicial System does appear to be organized and with documented procedures. Is it fair? Probably not; but Andrew did brag about how he chose [to live in] Romania because of its Judicial System. He never realized that the sword is sharp on both sides. Duh!

Remember Andrew did poke the bear one too many times. It makes me think of that scene in Wolf of Wallstreet (yes it is dramatized) when the Jordan Belfort was given the option to leave the industry quietly to avoid prosecution. But Belfort couldn't do it. He could stop being who he was. (Sound familiar?) So, as expected, the authorities went after him and he went to prison. I am sure the Tate brothers were given plenty advice to "calm the fuck down" and pursue other quieter avenues of livelihood.

Well he does actually know him. So there's that.

And can you imagine the infringement on civil right if you were held without any charges being formerly laid in Canada?

That's some pretty corrupt crap right there.

I don’t need to imagine it because it happens in the West, actually right here.

US has that patriot act that gives them similar “corrupt” powers under the guise of National Security. I’m sure Canada has its own legal policy for holding suspected criminals without charging them. Remember last year the Canadian government froze citizens’ bank accounts without due process. Romania isn’t alone in the world of corrupt governments.

My understanding is that there are charges already laid.

If not, non English speaking countries give their cops and prosecutors the right to hold suspects pending full investigation and laying of formal charges. It's a different way of doing things. I am guessing that they can't scoop just anyone up off the street and lock them away. They have to show a likely case and the longer they hold someone, the stronger that case has to be. Again I'm guessing, if there are court appearances and appeals, then there has to be a legal standard that the prosecution has to meet - otherwise, why have the court appearances and the reviews.

Your "neutral" narrator is a friend of Tate's, which pretty much destroys any neutrality. It's another Tate-sponsored PR piece.

This document details criminal arrest and detention procedure in Romania. Yeah, those pre charge detentions are pretty long and nasty there. Maybe Mr Po-Taito Head should have chosen another country to fuck around in.

Q10. How long can I be kept in prison before my
trial starts?
If the prosecutor requests your detention before your
trial, you should be brought immediately before a judge
who will decide whether or not you should be subject to
‘preventative arrest’. If the judge orders your arrest, you
have the right to challenge the decision within 48 hours.
The appeal should be heard within 5 days after you file
it.
You can only be kept in detention initially for up to 30
days. However, this can be extended by a judge, at the
request of the prosecutor, for an additional 30 days at a
time. The total period in detention before the closing of
criminal investigations should not exceed 180 days.

Generally, pre-trial detention (before the first instance

court has delivered its verdict on your case) can last up
to the equivalent of half the maximum sentence for the
alleged offence, but no more than 5 years.
