Do you discuss hobbying with your friends/co-workers?

I work in the same building as my wife (where we met 12 years ago) so I obviously try not to.
Yes and no. Sometimes In the abstract. Movies on the subject. When we travel to red light districts. Small mini group. When I was in the arts full time When I was abroad Coworkers talk about these things all the time. That's rare here.
If we include "in the abstract" then yes, co-workers as well.

If you value your relationships, career, reputation, than you best to keep this lifestyle to yourself. The way buyers are treated by the public, it would be breathtakingly stupid to go around blabbing your mouth.

I learned a long time ago to create different personas.
I keep certain co-workers who are time and soul-draining sponges away by giving them the impression that if I had heat vision I would burn them to ash.

I use to at the beginning but stopped sharing and actually told the same people I stopped doing it.

When discussing the hobby I make no bone about my disdain
towards the immorality and perversion of those who partake.
If someone mentions the need of seeking out RMT massage
for stiff muscles I'll warn him about certain deceitful type of
places where he will end up having certain spot rubbed and
tugged by the therapist. I'll tell him I avoid that kind of places
like the plague.

Depends on the person. If I get a vibe that they don't give a shit, then yes. If I get a vibe I'll get scrutinized and they most also tell everyone they know. then no.

As much as I'd like to tell some friends how I actually spent the evening (banging a cute blonde) I always stick to the cover story (Yeah Brady just needs to retire hey?)
Even guys with the best intentions could let something slip to their spouse or a group of people after a few beers. Not worth the risk, so this whole part of my life is my own secret.

Since my wife and I hobby together and there are no secrets, we found it to be ok to discuss it with some close friends. We came to the realization that if someone we didn't want to know found out, we really wouldn't care. We are at an age and point in our lives where we just don't give a shit.
The only time we ever regretted mentioning it to someone was when this was all that person ever wanted to talk about and it got so annoying. Always asking us questions and every time we saw them, always asking if we just "did it" again. I get that its kind of novel for them and they want to live vicariously through that but still annoying.

Many of my friends are vanilla, or in the "Matrix" for those conspiracy types.
The other thing is, I wouldn't talk about my personal life even if I was "just" dating.
It is just too easy for friends/acquaintances to start rumours and for people to believe them.
Lately, I have noticed that it is becoming more discussed among Men in the mainstream to hobby.
Or at least, openingly acknowledge that it is happening more than dating or getting married.
It still has a stigma though.The civilian women think we are scum and the Men hate us( secretly Envious).
