The chances of a counsellor making those decisions are only slightly above zero.
At worst the counsellor enabled a kid to help deal with choices they had already made, which is not grooming.

Everything you learn in school - assuming you learned anything, I guess - is "grooming" because all schools inculcate a value system. The question is whether you like the values inculcated.
