According to Hydro One, a raccoon is to blame for a power outage Friday evening that affected midtown Toronto and Scarborough.

The utility provider told the Star that raccoon came into contact with electrical equipment at its Ellesmere transmission station, causing the power outage.

According to Hydro One, the raccoon will not be causing any outages in the future.

No one needs to put a lock on the garbage bins where I live. Racoons are not a problem, we have these.

Wait til you see what is left after HV equipment contact
A racoon becomes in a very bright blink of an eye ra-carbon, with just smoking whisps where hair is still burning afterwards.

Interestingly, squirrels get offed a bit less often in this situation.
Since they are better at leaping between spots, versus coons walking between.

But when a squirrel goes you end up with a dead squirrel with no tail, or back legs and a tail left.
But due to them being smaller, they fry faster and so protective relaying does not trip out on them as often.

In a place far, far away
On behalf of my friend and colleague, Mister Diddles the Instagram Coon, I formally protest this vile slander against an entire species!

Popular science would have you believe that the KT event drove the dinosaurs into extinction...not all of them.

Raptors adapted and took to the air. Our basketball team updated their logo to reflect this fact.
