I agree with the OP. Alot of guys are into the thrill of the chase. There is an added boost when you get something you don't expect.
In my younger days I used to get a thrill by walking up to random hotties on the street and just straight out asking if they wanted to f*ck. Suprisingly this approach led to more success then you would think, also suprised I never got slapped. Best place for success office towers around lunch time.
Back in the day at strip clubs, it was considered
gauche for a dancer to approach the customers. They would walk around the club, glancing here and there, but it was 100% up to the guy to catch her attention in the brief moment when she looked his way. If a guy didn't act swiftly, it might be an hour or more before he had another window of opportunity with her.
To me, it was a major buzz kill when the B and C level talent started to go from table to table, soliciting gigs. That was a little bit too much like walking the west side block of Jarvis Street from Gerrard to Carlton in the days when only the geeks had Internet.
