No, direct flight Air Canada.
I haven’t seen that in any of the reporting. Have I missed it?

Remember you are also trying to move tons of people. Finding one flight, sure. Two or three people. Fine but they have tons of people. They can’t just redirect them one by one on different flights. How do you determine who gets to leave first? And how are you feeling when you are the last guy leaving. People from the same flight will want to leave the same time as others. You have to move them as a group or people will bitch of favouritism.

Again, based on what I have read, what you have shown me with your links, Sunwing has no control over what is happening weather wise. Not providing food or water is not right but we don’t know if that is exactly what has happened. They have rules of like 4 hrs delay then they provide food, this is obviously more then that. Finding food, transportation and accommodation for that amount of people at the same time would be a nightmare as well.

This is why I would leave the group and do it on my own and deal with it after. To be honest I think insurance should be mandatory for flying. I think everyone in situations like this should be making claims and the insurance industry would start fighting the airline industry for better accountability.

You still have only shown me issues of weather and no verification of one person getting out on AC with a direct flight.

In Someones Will Hopefully!
They are not lying. They have no fucking clue themselves. The CS reps that deal with people at the airport have no clue what is going on and only get updates. Updates change all the time. The weather was changing.

So she picks Dec 28 out her hat but yet they don’t know. Do you think if they knew, they would purposely not tell people? Give your head a shake. The situation is fluid so therefore so is the info. It is not that hard to figure out.

And again, get travel insurance to cover delays and cancellations. Go get your hotel and fight it later. That is what insurance is for.
I ♥ when you swear..soo friggin hot 😍

I guess so or you are not searching hard enough.

The weather issue has passed. It's been several days. The issue now is they don't have any seats for people and they are avoiding that discussion.

They are not the only airlines to cancel flights but they are the ones lagging behind.

I'm the only one showing anything in this thread. What's the point? I know what I read and everyone knows I can dance all night long. So this time I'm gonna let you write the final chapter.

So when they were able to get on an airplane this would not have happened?

On a more serious note what travelers experienced sounded really horrible. Sadly airlines and travel companies won't be forced to compensate passengers but given the storm was announced and well publicized it's has to fault the companies.

Yep. And you're correct Sunwing is a discount travel provider. You get what you pay for. Including the Russian manufactured jets.
I've never heard that before. How can a Canadian based airline use Russian made planes? How would they even pass safety standards here? I'm pretty sure Sunwing owns or leases 737's.

I get tired of being right all the time on TERB. That's all.

What do I gain from winning this argument?

So for once, I'll let you write the ending of this story.

After reading through this thread it seems like only Sunwing passengers are having a hard time finding their way back.
I don’t see any Air Canada or Air Transat or WestJet passengers having these major issues that Sunwing is having.
So you have to ask yourself why is it that Sunwing can’t handle this weather situation and the other airlines seem to be doing OK.

This engaged couple were going to Mexico to get married. They decided to leave their luggage (with her wedding dress inside) behind and board with just carry-ons.

Good news. She was able to rent a white wedding dress in Mexico and she got married wearing that dress. Here's a pic of her inside the limo back to the hotel. You can see the ring on her finger.

So are they stuck at the airport or do they get to stay in a hotel until Sunwing can get them home?

Wait, another airline had issues over the holidays? No way!
Like I said Canadians will get squat because our p ssy government will never enact or ever enforce any legislation unless it will result in votes for the drama teacher - you know the brown faced guy.

But we have policies put in place for this already. It was enacted a couple of years ago.

but that is not my point. My point is some believe Sunwing was the only airline with issues. Thank you for proving him wrong. Everyone needs a first time being wrong, even here on TERB
