Unless you have a call girl or word of mouth connection don't hobby there. Also don't take any smart tech over the board discussing the issue. Border crossings and tech do not mix.
I used to go to NYC very frequently but never tried hiring an SP. Far too expensive, legally and otherwise risky.

Yes, one of the local IG models posted a reel today and yesterday where she claimed other women had used her IG photos on sex work sites and these had come up when US Border Control checked her out. She said that she was held 5 hours in NY airport and had to allow her IPhone to be searched for "evidence" of sex work before Border Control would let her into the USA.
The girl is a rap fan and scene "insider" and visits the US frequently to attend shows and meetings. That's taken as a tip-off by US Border Control that the girl in question might be a touring sex worker. If you hit various large US cities frequently without having a pattern or relatives / friends that you are visiting, Border Control assumes that you are touring for tricks.
Good question. After a few overly priced martinis I usually don’t feel the risk.
Just thinking of past experience, the commercial conversation never usually happens until back at my hotel.
It’s also obvious they are working girls if you ask them back to your place after just one drink, a 5 min conversation and it only 10pm. It’s seems a poor strategy for LE, a massive time investment, costly and risky.
You do need to have some sort of Spidey Sense and expect to pay big.

For a guy, the risk is answering a fake police ad on SkipTheGames and doing solicitation during the texting phase, and eventually going to an incall and being greeted by the police. Or approaching a streetwalker decoy, or going to an incall that is under surveillance by the police and then not knowing how to STFU when stopped after exiting the incall. Manhattan is a very safe place for this activity. The prosecutor announced that he will not pursue sex workers in consensual transactions. The thought of a police sting being conducted in a upscale bar/restaurant in NYC just isn’t realistic. There are some bars in NYC that actively try to ban sex workers, but that is a private matter. Note that I am talking about NYC, not Orlando, not Phoenix, etc. Every city is different. The U.S. has lots of different states and cities. So does Canada. If someone took a story about a massage parlor bust in a prairie village in central Canada and said be careful in Toronto, everyone here would laugh. But somehow, many posters view the U.S. as one big country where everything is the same everywhere.
Cleaning your phone from explicit conversations with escorts and internet browser searches is good advice. Americans have to do the same when entering Canada in case of a search. Note that border patrol is federal, not local police in the U.S. Same with Canada. U.S. federal border patrol has a known system of denying entry to foreign sex workers. They browse escort ads and look for travel schedules and match faces and tattoos.
And lastly, a lot of what was once the meet a sex worker at a popular high-traffic bar scene has been replaced by Seeking Arrangement. Costs a bit to join, and no guarantee of sex, but plenty of people have success. I am a give the escort the necessary screening and reference information kind of a guy, so it has limited appeal to me. But I recognize that the trends in the U.S. are sending the youngest sex workers to that website.
