I'll comment. This stinks. She should resign. This is a pretty blatant example of conflict. I mean, there are times when it might be a little blurry, but she knew this person for two decades. Did they open it up to a bid or RFPs from other firms??

I feel I'm consistent on these things. I am not a Trudeau fan by any means, and his ethical violations were pretty fucking stupid. I also don't think she'll resign, even though she should.

She should have recused herself from the decision, then it would have been above board.
Its a small contract but she should repay it herself or resign as minister.

Its also worth nothing that this $20k contract is nothing compared to the millions going to Ford's donors who bought land in the greenbelt he's letting them develop on.

Agreed.

She could have recused herself.
Not having done that, she needs to resign or at least be forced off of decision-making entities where she can do this again.

This is just one more in a very long list of ethics / conflict issues for the Trudeau liberals

the left wanted Steven Harpers head on a pike for a fat senators padding of his expense account
the left wanted Steven Harper to resign over Mike Duffy's expense account

No, this is a small contract that she should have recused herself on.
There is no evidence or suspicion that there is money directly passing here.

The kind of corruption you are talking about is more likely to have happened with Doug Ford and his greenbelt land sales.
One his donors bought an $80 million piece of the greenbelt just months before Ford announced he was going to allow development there.
The only way someone would risk that kind of purchase is if they knew beforehand it was happening.
And the chances that money passed between hands on this one is very, very high.
