After all this, I still don't understand bitcoin. Maybe that is why I never touch the stuff.

I have a decent grasp of it and won't go near it. All this going on with FTX reinforces my decision.
It has had a huge impact on a lot of people and locally it has affected the Ontario Teacher's Pension.

I wasn't criticizing Snowden. Simply pointing out that Russia is a safer bet to avoid US extradition. Bahamas isn't the best place to flee from the authorities. Ask Peter Nygaard.

You're in the shithouse now pal. US courts tend to hand out sentences relative to how much money you bilked.
For instance, if you committed fraud for $100 million you can expect at minimum a 10 to 15 year sentence (maybe even longer).
So $1 billion should be good for at least 20 to 30 years in the bucket.

Most developed nations now have an extradition treaty with the US, except for 3rd world shitholes and dictator led countries:
