Are online computer dealed Blackjack casinos legit?

I recently started playing online Blackjack single player vs. the computer (not live dealer) on the BetMGM site.

Single deck, automatic shuffle up after very hand.
Dealer stands on soft 17, can only split once, but can double after split. Blackjack pays 3:2, no "surrender", double down on any 2 cards against any dealer "up"card.

Playing just for fun. Not going to make or lose any significant money betting $2 per hand, but it's fast as with being just me and the computer dealing, I can play over 100 hands per hour.

However, compared to live blackjack I notice the dealer beats me by 1 or so a lot more than I would expect, and I bust when hitting with 12 to 16 vs. dealer 7 and up much more than it seemed in a live game, whereas the dealer busts much less than I would expect with a 5 or 6 "up" card.

I play Basic Strategy to the letter, as per a couple of well respected Blackjack strategy books, but while I get the odd streak of wins in a session, I get more losing streaks, and almost always end up losing by the end of 30 minutes to an hour.

I've read some comments on Reddit, etc. suggesting that the computer-based Blackjack algorithms heavily favour the house.

Has anybody else had similar or different experiences playing one-on-one computer based Blackjack on BetMGM, or any other casino betting sites?

I would play Live games on the BetMGM site with real dealers dealing real cards from a multi-deck shoe, but with $10 minimums and up it becomes gambling for me, and not just casual fun.

I truly believe that that website algos are based on your style / pattern of play and betting size. The algo is updated with AI every time you play. I notice that on
the blackjack slots in Las Vegas. The machine/site will give you a few in a row to reinforce the feeling of winning and then it will take you like 5 or 10 in a row. I've seen websites/machines get 17 to 21 hands , ten to twenty times in a row. Every time I play, I play tight for the first 30 to 60 minutes and when I get some free money, I bet it just for fun to possibly double my chip stack and the dealer on average gets a 20 hand. Go figure. I don't believe websites and LV slots BJ are based on a random generator. There are the rare sessions I truly believe I'm playing on random, if I hit a quick profit, I take the funds and head over to the Sportsbook and place a favorites bet/parlay with their house money. Good luck and enjoy and just play small for entertainment .

In every casino game, in person or online, the house has an advantage over the player. That's how they make their money. 100 hands per hour is too many. Slow down and think instead of reacting.

I always think they are rigged because dealer have lot of BJ and 2 hand total of 20 than the player.

If I ran an offshore gambling site, you bet your sweet ass it would be rigged.

I have been playing online poker for a few years, only NL Holdem Poker tournaments
and have cashed about $2500, losing about $500.. I have been to Vegas and other casinos and have done fairly well playing poker, but I will never play slots or table games as the odds are totally in favourite of the house. Blackjack has the best odds but still favourites the house. Best win I had online was a 250 euro buy in to a live tournament in Manchester England, 2 days free accommodations but had to pay for my airfare. Took the money instead. By the way, I am totally pissed off with Dickhead Ford changing the rules for gambling at online sites by reducing the number of sites licenced to operate in Ontario, now approximately 6_8 instead of the many that were available in the past, therefore, not enough players available to fill tournaments.

BetMGM seems to be certified by AGCO; I am not specifically familiar with Ontario's compliance program but I have dealt with many other (including Canadian provinces) compliance requirements.

To get certified the game (RNG + rules) need to be validated by third party compliance testing companies (eg. GLI). These games run strictly via their mathematical models and highly compliant RNGs.

All games you play have the odds in favor of the house; it takes thousands/millions of plays of an RNG game to get a proper distribution of the mathematics... hence why we see patterns/biases.

If you play on a non-regulated site then all the above is mute. Enjoy not just the math being in the favor of the house.

Blackjack has the best odds to win, but only at Live Casinos. No way will you win playing at Online Sites. One big advantage playing live is by knowing how to count cards although casinos have been known to ban players if they can catch you doing that.

If it’s “just for fun”… then get yourself a deck of cards and and roll of quarters. Play against your teddy bear, or a cup of coffee.

Casinos, be it physical or online, are designed with one goal… and it’s not to give you a huge payday. Volumes could be written on the shenanigans casinos of old used to do…. How much easier is it for online ones to cheat?

Save your $2.

It is much easier obviously to cheat on online casino sites. If you read reports on the percentage of winning at live casino games be it slots, baccarat, roulette, or table games, you will see which of them give you the best odds to win and the best is blackjack followed by baccarat, however, you still have to know how to bet to get better odds in your favour.

I'm no gambling expert per se but I've played hold 'em poker, black jack, casino war etc etc...all I can tell you about black jack is that...never play 1 on 1 vs. the house...never...they can clean you very fast...the deal is fast...your best option is playing with2-3 other people that knows their shit...it's basically cards falling where they may...meaning, you play on the basic...never hit on a dealer bust card...etc etc...I was at the pickering casino the other night just playing my usual game and was ready to go...I was up $300...this lady took my seat as i was leaving and took to spots...a very aggressive player...she also plays by her hunch...meaning, she hits even on a dealer bust card and just a very unconventional player - needless to say...everyone she played with were pissed...LOL...she also burn 1k in about 15 minutes...

Online blackjack can feel different than playing in person, and it's not uncommon to feel like the computer is beating you more often than it should. However, keep in mind that with single-deck blackjack, the house does have a slight edge.
You are right, however, I can't tell if online blackjack games are one deck or more. I know that years ago live blackjack at casinos used two dcks especially in Vegas, but when card counting became more popular, they switched to up to six decks which made card counting much more difficult. I haven't been to a love casino for a few years so I don't know what it is like now.

Can't beat playing live BJ at a full and fun table with low minimums on Freemont Street. My favourite thing to do in Vegas....while drinking of course. :p
On the strip, playing with a table of fun players who play similar Basic strategies is the best. And milking the free premium drinks is a must. $ 5 and 10 dollar tables on non peak times. I love stacking my red/green chips till the dealer starts running out and wants to color you up. Never color up, or that'll be your TSN turning point. If you play with the intention of killing the house, you always get killed yourself.

You won't find $5 tables on the strip, unless it's video BJ. Even $10 tables are rare unless you're at the tables before 11am. Fremont Street is the place to go for low-limit tables.

Was just in Vegas. Stayed on Freemont. Discovered the El Cortez. Great place to play. Low limit 2 deck, even on Sat night. Drinks were frequent.

For four days playing about 12 hours a day I was down maybe $500, up about $75 in comps(played maybe 20% at my home hotel) and up about 60 doubles on the rocks.
Highly recommend the 4 Queens restaurant as well. Ate a bunch there just to get meals in and price to quality was worth it. Oh and over 55 age gets you a "seniors" discount of 10%, so why the fuck not.
