It knew what it was doing, holding her hostage for the bananas. Luckily they did not panic, or he would ripped her arm right off.

people are idiots. I get that it would be a cool experience but its an animal. petting lions, swimming with dolphins, a parrot on your shoulder they will do what they want to do and not act based on the feel good vibes of your experience.
Don't know about Orangutans but Chimpanzees are strong and cause serious damage.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Charla Nash, who had her face ripped off by a 200-pound chimpanzee in February 2009, has signed a deal to tell her story in a documentary that will likely air on NBC this fall.

Chimps are extremeyl violent and powerful. They will even kill each other, and scheme among themselves. They have a strict hiearchy and the alpha male can be a real asshole. There are many horrific videos that show just how brutal these species is. Anyone who keeps one as a pet is looking for trouble. I'd rather have a pit bull as a pet than a chimp, and that's saying a lot!Don't know about Orangutans but Chimpanzees are strong and cause serious damage.

Look at the muscles and build on this hairless chimp that was attacked. I don't think the strongest human could take him on.
