I heard there is a new app US based company called LOMOTIF and does the same as tiktok. i don't use neither but the gals in my office have been talking about this.
It's a different algorithm because China has strict laws.

lol doesn't matter if it does the same if it has no users. Tiktok has over a billion users with the highest engagement times out of all the big social media apps.

In China the algorithm feeds you information to be productive, learn things etc.
In the US, it feeds us pranks, stupid memes, jokes, people getting "celebrity famous" for (purposely self-induced) epic fails etc. All things to cause the rewarding dopamine rush of the brain's entertainment of stupid things, and the ever increasing search for novelty.
Set aside your prejudice against him being religious and have a listen to what he is saying, in plain language. It is really worth the few minutes.

Religion doesn't stop cruelty or crime. In fact it has historically and currently done the opposite because;
A) People can just go and "have their sins forgiven."
B) People pick and choose whats right and wrong from the bible based on their own personal prefferences.
Well, it feeds you information the government wants you to learn.
China's culture has always been about serving (or being subservient to) the state while the US has always been about individual freedoms. TikTok is just a symptom of what the US was founded for and there's no way it's going to change.
That said, I wouldn't mind some action on the way social media has monetized negative engagement in youth.
Agreed. My favourite pub patio is beside a cannabis shop. I sit and watch the United Nations visit that store including women in full burkas. I agree that TT is dumb but I think that can be generalized to the world of social media. Embracing religion as an antidote is just trading one load of gibberish for another.I love these generalizations.
