Don't know the ins and outs but it seems a case of being hoisted by your own petard. Seems to have for a while, thrived on his own brand of charmless persona. Being a smarmy, unsavory and coercive bully was not to everybody's liking.

The moral of the story. Don't attempt to bumfuck your crew without backup. So far Brad Pitt and more recently Jeremy Renner have kept quiet.
