Wow, hope your friend is okay. And I assume that you guys only know each other by your handles, therefore you don't know each other's real names, and are having a hard time finding out any information about him without that one basic piece of information?

I did the same this time and it didn't seem to make a difference with some unfortunately.

Although this is still very good advice and probably saved me even more stress than if I hadn't.

To be honest, the members I did see and those that filled the spots of the cancelations and no shows were amazing and have convinced me to try again someday.

Same with those who missed me and really wanted to see me.

I am hoping that maybe next time with some regulars/repeats and a small increase in deposit amount with a deposit mandatory policy, things might work out better.

I really did have a great time meeting everyone.

Sorry for venting, I guess I was just extremely disappointed that Ottawa (I grew up in Ottawa) was living up to a notoriously bad reputation that I think some do not want to admit is true.

I'm not sure what you found offensive about that question? It was a perfectly fine question, I've filled her in in private about some of the details, and she was just expressing the sympathy at the problems we are facing in locating him.

There are really two options. She is as clueless as that question is, or it was a tongue-in-cheek jab at hobbyists' unwillingness to provide screening information by pointing out how difficult it can be to identify someone without something as basic as their name.

I don't take her for an idiot so I went with the latter. Considering the member in question may be experiencing serious health issues, or worse, I view it as classless.

I think you misread her response.

We're trying to figure out what happened to the guy but have very limited personal information. Hopefully something surfaces soon because this is very uncharacteristic of him.

Thank you guys, I wasn't sure how that statement got so badly misinterpreted. I'm glad other people saw it for what it was, and came to my defense. You guys rock, and you're all now officially my white knights and have to do exactly as I say.

I was ghosted by a reputable provider today, someone who has great reviews on this forum, and seemed very reliable. I confirmed morning of appointment, arrived five minutes early and asked for room number, then radio silence for 30 minutes. So I left. All that go say, the frustration of ghosting and cancellations is felt by both providers and clients.

You lose time, a few dollars in gas (unless you drive from out of town) and are disappointed because you were looking forward to your visit.

I guess all you can do is report your experience or try to speak with the provider who did this to you and see if there is a good reason for what happened.
