American Bully XL Kills Owner; Dog 'Bigger Than Lion' Turned Mad in Extreme Heat (ibtimes.sg)

A horrific killing in England by an American Bully XL dog. The dog is a combination of the American pit bull, bulldog and others. It weighs between 80 and 150 pounds. The dog pinned the female owner down and killed her by ripping her throat. When her husband tried to intervene, he was attacked in the face, stomach and arms. He suffered "life altering" injuries. This was the fourth killing by this breed in England in the past two years. A toddler, a 10-year old and a Kennel owner had all suffered the same horrific death.

And yet, the United Kennel Club says "despite its ferocious looks, the American Bully XL is a kind, friendly, and affectionate dog. Aggression towards humans is uncharacteristic and undesirable. They make great nannies, are patient with children, and often look out for them."

Why people keep these menacing dogs as pets is beyond comprehension.

How many of these dogs are in the country? Vrs 4 people killed.

How many other deaths by dogs have there been and what are their breeds?

How many dog attacks have happened in those two years, that did not result in death and what were those breeds?

We need more information then just what has been posted.

At least according to Wikipedia, 13 people killed by dogs in the UK since 2020, 4 by this breed.

The rest a mix of staffordshire, chow-shepherd mix, husky, American bulldogs, English bulldogs, Rottweiler, cane corso.

Scanning back to previous years, pit bulls, staffordshire terriers and American bulldogs are considerably over represented in dog related human deaths, while much more popular family dog breeds don’t even show up

Hardly looks menacing. Maybe if dog wasn’t so scrawny and hungry from a vegan diet he wouldn’t have eaten his owner!

Probably bad owner. Nothing to do with the dog.
As with gun deaths. Nothing to do with guns. Probably just the owner.

Dogs don't kill people, nu uh
Jon Lajoie kills people, with dogs ugh

To deny that it is possible for some breeds to be prone to doing the MDK is to deny genetics, selective breeding and evolution.

The couple had two kids who were upstairs while their mom was being ripped apart and father was being mauled downstairs by one of the family dogs. Truly horrific. There were two dogs of the same breed but only one was the murderer. Both dogs have been put down. The father apparently lost something that had to be reattached.
