Got mine back in April.....
The new versions of vaccines are coming in the Fall. The booster half-dose will likely expire by then.It doesn`t make sense to get a 4th shot of the same vaccine now.
It would be a waste of the relatively short time limit of effectiveness.
This current wave is very mild and expected to peak soon.
If anything, it would be better to wait until the fall if it looks like it could help at a more relevant time.
Personally, I can`t see myself getting a 4th shot unless there is a new vaccine that is more tuned to the reality of the evolving virus.
Plus it would all depend on the current reality at the time of availability, meaning a much higher infection fatality rate, which looks unlikely.
50% didn`t even get a 3rd shot.
They are done with this shit, and I think I am too.
My timing is based off that the current versions effectiveness will wear off just in time for the Omicron-based vaccine versions hit the market.Getting it is a minor thing. It's just a matter of timing. So I'll definitely get it but probably not until after Labour Day since I expect more Covid to circulate in the fall/winter and getting it now would mean its effectiveness would be waning just as things could be heating up. Same as I'll get a flu shot just before the beginning of the flu season and not months before it begins.
You might not be eligible for a 5th shot at that time.My timing is based off that the current versions effectiveness will wear off just in time for the Omicron-based vaccine versions hit the market.
I just don't see the downside in getting the vaccine.
I'd prefer a Omicron multivalent vaccine but it is indisputable that vaccines have reduced the severity of infections. It doesn`t make sense to get a 4th shot of the same vaccine now.
