In March there were multiple news reports of women being stuck with needles at bars and some even blacking out afterwards here in Kingston.

Yeah, the Global News report on Kingston mentions needle spiking reports in Toronto and Vancouver as well.

So I guess it has already caught on here in North America unfortunately.
