Why so many internet Trolls?

I noticed in the past week quiet a few threads that are so old and useless reappearing or new ones created that are so useless. I check the poster date of join and it seems to be from June.
These trolls have posted on all sections of Terb.

Now I remember from the back in the day to not go to Spa's because the LE would bust these places around June and July. There is a reason why they do this, you figure it out. So it's just weird that this also the time these trollers appear. Am I missing something?

IS there some kind of money thing going to post something on a forum and make a nickel out this?

I don't know about trolls, but I have noticed a lot of useless, 'covert marketing' or 'look at me threads' cropping up since the gradual emergence of society from pandemic restrictions. My working theory is that providers are more active on this board and others at present as a means to gain attention/interest and perhaps drum up much needed business after an extended period of low volume Customer interest. Boards are indulging the poor behaviour because provider revenue is always in need to keep many boards going. Happy providers pay subscription fees, so better protect em' and keep em' happy.

It's been a long pandemic dry spell. The trickle down effect is real. Doesn't matter how many claims of 'I was pretty much unaffected by the pandemic, and am as busy or busier than ever!' I read, I still think 80-90% of those claims are bogus.

Some people weren't hugged enough as children? Seriously, probably just bored, lonely people who like to be argumentative and attempt to make conversation with absolutely absurd statements. I just ignore them once, then block them if they insist on pursuing their one-sided conversation with me.

Was in a bar once where a guy started sharing his racist views with me, including his assessment of the lady behind the bar. I actually got up and moved to the other end of the bar. The dickhead actually moved too and continued his speech, at which point I lost my patience and he was subsequently tossed from the bar. Advantages of being a regular customer at the time and I had never caused any crap until that day.

I agree with you 100%. Off the wall absurd statements is not for everyone, just for one person.

Yeah, I have zero tolerance for racism. What I really wanted to do is shatter his face with my beer mug, but then that would not have worked out well for me, even if he deserved it. Oh well! Thankfully I have self control, but doesn't mean I cannot fantasize!

I think just about everyone in the politics forum actually believes the stuff they post. People believe fucked up shit sincerely. By definition it doesn't make them trolls. However I am an old fashioned cunt who thinks words actually have meaning and that Troll doesn't mean idiot or someone who disagrees with me but someone who likes to stir up the pot by posting inane shit to get a rise out of people. Like when I tell a metalhead friend of mine that I absolutely love that Slayer song, "Breaking the Law" from the Paranoid album. However even then, he knows I am taking the piss and it's all in good fun.
