This has been going on for some time and it's only getting worse. We are close to hallway medicine. We don't have enough doctors and nurses. What do expect when it's free. People abuse it and go there for non emergencies.

Well, just vaccinate someone or something.... before the "system" is overwhelmed. ROTFLMFAO!!
This has been going for the last 40 years, it just gets worst as the population grows and ages.

This is happening because people abuse the system? Where is the evidence to support this?

It's going to be Wynne's fault for a while....til people get tired of hearing it.
During the McGuinty-Wynn years, the typical answer to this same old issue was "Blame Harris".

Simple fact is that our healthcare system is not that great. Yes, it is much better than our neighbors to the south, however compared to the rest of the planet , we are not that great.

Once we get over our "we are better than the USA" mentality perhaps we can focus on making our system much better by comparing it to systems that are actually better than ours.

Liberals and Conservatives are only cosmetically different.

Have you ever been to an ER? I have many times due to a condition I have. People go there for colds and other minor issues, This was before COVID. It's also hard to see your GP sometimes and people don't want to wait so they go to the ER instead.

They ran the province with majority for 14 years in a row. It takes a long time to undo that damage, some of which is irreparable. Then you get hit with a pandemic and 1/3 of the frontline workers disappear from the healthcare system. Its no wonder the system is teetering on collapse.

Ford is in his second term as a Premier and promised to fix things. Doctors are saying he's done the opposite.

I don't think for a second that our system is better than the U.S.
Think about it. Tens of thousands of Canadians each year seek healthcare in the U.S. That's not including snowbirds. I'm not sure how many Americans come to Canada to seek healthcare but I'm guessing its probably less than 1,000. I know they do use Canadian online pharmacies because the prescription drug prices here are significantly cheaper.

Give it a rest, the 2nd term just started. And his first term was really only a little less than 2 years old when the pandemic hit. I'm no defender of Ford (didn't vote for him) but its completely unfair to criticize his administration for the state of our healthcare system.

Sure it is.

He froze health care worker's wages and that's one of the major reasons they are feeling burnt out and not appreciated.
See Bill 124.

He also didn't prioritize vaccinating essential workers, quite a few who work in health care.
He ignored the issues in long term health units and gave concessions to their donor owners.

Dougie owns it.

More cuts are definitely helping.
