The world is coming to an end.
Why am I not surprised. What are you going to do if another variant hits in the fall and Dougy brings back the mask mandate and more vaccine mandates? OOOOOOOH, the world as you know it will be ending.

So AB saw a 20.1% increase in covid19 deaths year over year. That was pretty much on par with the rest of Canada.
Jan 1-Jun 6, 2021 9,608 covid deaths in Canada.
Jan 1-Jun 6, 2022 there were 11,405 deaths. An 18.7% increase.

What is CBC's point in singling out AB here?

They are reporting relative comparisons in other jurisdictions right in the article. The article is written by a Calgary-based journalist, about Alberta health issues. You would expect they would focus on Alberta, where the national bureau would do the whole country.

"We're — in this current wave — seeing more deaths per capita than Ontario and Quebec," said Dr. Daniel Gregson, an infectious diseases physician and associate professor at the University of Calgary's Cumming School of Medicine.
