What is it with these stupid owners letting their aggressive dogs roam free? The dog lost its life because of their idiocy, but more importantly a girl could have been killed or disfigured for life.

I live in a neighborhood where some dog owners let their dogs roam free, and they bark at me. I can't even go for a walk without worrying about being bitten. It shouldn't be this way.

Looks like the dogs were playing (they were wagging their tails), especially since she had a broom and they thought it was a stick.

I am sure if those two dogs were vicious attack animals that girl would be dead.

Still, a traumatic event for the youngster. Perhaps she will need therapy.

owners have to understand that there are people who are afraid of dogs and are scared of them .. i am terrified of german shepperds for some reason as they sense my fear... i get along with dobermans..
this is the reason why i dont get a dog because mine would be on a leash at all times and i would not be able to control a dog if it came running towards me .. such a sweet innocent girl left with this bite for the rest of her life

Like dogs but not fond of pit bulls. Walking home from school in grade 7 or 8 one attacked a girl a little younger than me. Stupid me grabbed it by the collar & it came after me, kicked him in the head at least 5 or 6 times before he wandered off. If it was a hundred years ago & I lived on the prairies that dog would have been full of lead!

With the very odd exception any one who owns a pit bull [ which is like having a loaded gun in a house with kids] is an aggressive human being who is a ticking time bomb , just like the dog that they choose to own .

Not my experience at all.
Everyone I know who owns a pitbull is a peace and love quasi-hippie type and their dogs are all incredibly calm and lovable.
I think it has a LOT to do with how the dog is raised. Assholes who think pitbulls are the ultimate macho asshole dog raise their dogs to be aggressive.

If I had children though, I would never ever on a pitbull. It would just take one incident, and my child could be killed or disabled for life. Not worth it.
