...

How many people drive? How many driving assholes and psychos are out there that drive drunk and kill people? More people die from fatal collisions in my city than homicides on a consistent basis. ...
Great point. Maybe we should stat making people take a test to get the right to operate a car, register them, and get insurance to help anyone they injure.

Simply put, you are wrong, but since you don't do any research and haven't looked into hunting, you make these stupid statements.
So please tell me, what type of hunting requires a low power round that can fire at over a shot per second? A horde of rabbits attacking your carrots?

Cutting off the narrative again to suit your needs and conveniently ignoring hit and runs, driving without a license and driving without no insurance.

I told you, I am sick and tired of spoon feeding your the answers that are easily found. Take a course instead of being ignorant.

You've ignored for the fourth time or more that rifle action is separate from caliber, there are a range of bullet weights within a caliber, ammo used for hunting is different than ammo used in warfare, the difference between direct impingement versus piston actions, etc.

Your ignorance is very apparent.

Instead of being a critic and sticking to a wrong answer that you formulated with no real knowledge, take a course and learn something. Read a book.

Which began to practice for killing.

Do you think the 'right' to go to the range is enough to overrule the need for public safety?
And the jet engine would not have been possible without the result of World War 2 research to make fighter jets. You made a pointless comment.

There is no right to go to the range.

Take a firearms course.

Learn something.

So you can't tell me what hunting situation makes a AR an effective choice?

Because actual hunters will tell you only a small game hunter who can't shoot for shit (who shouldn't be out there in the first place).

You're the one who brought up cars.

My "narrative" is that the standards set by cars should be the minimum for gun ownership. A test, registration, and insurance (as well as removal of license for violations).

Question: Does SWAT use soft point bullets?
Yes. They tend to use .308 soft points that are used for deer for longer shots. They are not limited to using ball ammo under the Geneva convention because they are not at war.

They use many different firearms depending on the mission.

Yes I can, but I'm not going to because I'm tired of spoon feeding you.

There's nothing preventing you from looking it up yourself.

Okay, so farmers need guns to shoot gophers. And it proves I'm not army if I don't know about polar bears. That's some argument against gun control you got going there.

And in other countries, you get a tiny fraction of the mass shootings that you get in the US because the killer in those other countries gets an illegal gun. That doesn't mean that gun control is "ineffective". There are rapes too. That doesn't mean that the law against rape is "ineffective". That just means that there will always be breaches of whatever law is on the books.

If there was no law against rape, then there would be a helluva lot more rapes.

It's pretty clear that those 19 kids in TX would still be alive if TX had Canadian-style gun laws. So again, stop ducking that fact and deal with my argument.
You can believe that if you want and rant limitlessly about it, but there will be another mass shooting in Canada, despite the laws.

Nobody knows when or where, but the sad truth is that one day there will be another thread just like this one where people will cry that something needs to be done.

Why? Because the underlying issue of mental health isn't being fixed and we share a border with a country that provides over 80% of the illegal firearms in Canada.

Live your life and don't worry about it too much. The odds are it won't be you or anyone you know.

I would think in a densely crowed area, it would make sense to use a soft point bullet. A hard point bullet can go right through the suspect and also hit an innocent bystander or hostage.

Some day?
There were 11 mass shootings on one day over the weekend in the US, but none up here.
More guns = more mass shootings.

There's definitely a problem in the U.S. No question about it. But the reality is you can't do much about it.

Worry about the things you can control like being careful when you drive and eat properly and exercise to prevent health issues.
