Texas is becoming an apartheid State, white are now the minority but control 70% of the vote.
Governor Gregg Abbott is a symbol of white resistance, he will not be replaced. Baeto O'Rourke can rant all he wants, he stands no chance of defeating the incumbent. In a fair election in 2019, he most certainly would have beaten Ted Cruz, gerrymandering is awesome. Now Abbott has to put a public face on this tragedy, of course behind the scenes he's very happy. 19 dead in a Hispanic district, better to decrease the surplus "wetback" population. No thoughts and prayers for you!
I am guessing that Uvalde was represented by a GOP congressman btw. He sure seems to love guns and Jesus.

Kimmel can afford armed security detail. The same goes for Biden and others condemning gun ownership.
It shouldn't be something that only the rich and powerful have access to for protection.
They should set an example by relinquishing all of their security teams. No guns for thee, then no guns for me.
Why?

That just makes them targets in a country where celebs are often the subject of misplaced anger.

Here's what you need to do to set up your argument. Give us crime statistics from rich, white suburbs around Dallas. If the violent gun crime in those statistics is through the roof, then you can start to argue that rich, white suburban, GOP folk need those guns. I'll wait for those stats.

Other countries have mental health issues but no mass shootings. And, as noted, Republicans oppose/block funding for mental health support.
The USA has had the same amount of guns per capita for decades. What has changed that there are more mass shootings now than 60 years ago? Culture and mental health.

I suspect guns laws are more strict now than they were 60 years ago.

Those rich white folks are the very ones who can afford and pay for armed security. They are business people, celebrities, and politicians. They obviously think that they need guns. Some of them train to shoot their own guns, while many pay others to shoot guns for them.

You're right that without guns, you become an easier target.

This is an empirical question so let's look up the stats (will do later). 50 years ago is a turning point, where gun laws tightened because the black panthers chose to exercise the full extent of the existing gun laws.

What does white hegemony have to do with a hispanic kid killing 19 other hispanic people?
You must live under a rock.

The white minority is perfectly happy to have coloured communities maim and slaughter each other, which is why Gov Abbott will do nothing. In 2019, a white supremacist incel drove from a Dallas suburb to El Paso, he then killed 23 Latinos and injured another 26. At the time El Paso resident was contesting a Senate seat against Ted Cruz. Cruz was re-elected and Gov Abbott's response to the El Paso massacre...WGAS. It's what Julius Caesar called Divide and Conquer.

Without guns, there is also less gun crime. Right?

Americans jerk off about guns. Doesn't mean those white suburban folks actually need them. So get me some stats.

They say Americans a dumb. They are actually.

They cannot even link that lots and lots of guns will lead to lots and lots of people getting shot.

How dumb is that?

Okay, so once they get rid of their guns and security detail, they can tell everyone else to hand in their guns, too.

They're the leaders after all. Set that example.

Until then, no dice. We all play by the same rules or we don't play at all.

No. Because it's America and people with guns shoot at famous people.

So prove to me that your average fat fuck Republican, golf club white boy in rich suburban Dallas is under grave threat of gun crime and I'll follow your analogy. Otherwise, it's silly.

I heard on Radio 680 this morning that the local police tried to enter the school shortly after their arrival, but two police were shot by the "shooter". The local police then decided to wait for a tactical unit to arrive, which took another 40 to 60 minutes, while parents on the scene were screaming at them to charge in and control the situation. What a horror show...

Imagine a country or state where the madman carrying the AR 15 is better equipped than the regular cop on the beat. Madness, total stupidity and madness.

What do you hunt with a AR-15? What shooting competitions uses AR-15? Like seriously????
What you can hunt with an AR-15 depends on the state you are in.

3 gun, service rifle use the AR-15 as well as many others. Very popular.

Look, it's apparent you don't know much about firearms, but banning the AR-15 won't do anything. There's lots of other semi auto rifles out there.

Banning AR-15's is like saying they should ban Toyota Hi Lux pickups because the Taliban uses them.

The problem is cultural, not the AR-15. There's as many firearms in the U.S. as there are people.

Unfortunately, the horse has left the barn as well. Problem is not really solvable. Threatening to ban any firearms related stuff in the U.S. just drives sales through the roof.

Obama was the greatest gun salesman in U.S. history. Gun sales and prices went down under Trump. Companies like Remington went bankrupt when Trump was in power.

But people don't want to hear that the problem isn't solvable, just like homelessness and drug use.

Authorities can't get their stories straight. Can't answer one question. One hour to get in the door. Stood around and watching from safety outside and waiting for negotiators. They were preventing parents from fighting their way in. One parent told the cops "give me a gun and I will go in"
Several people have been saying ever since Columbine, where the rule was secure the perimeter, the rule now is go in with what you've got. Fucking shit show from Texas the brave.
