Correct. Atlanta third basemen Eddie Matthews had held that record for 50 years.
Matthews played just one season in Atlanta. 80% of his career was played in Milwaukee.

It's like saying Houston Aero Gordie Howe held the all time goal scoring record until Indianapolis Racer Wayne Gretzky surpassed it.

Wherever I got the question from obviously made an error with his team. He was with Milwaukee in his 10th season. He played for Atlanta in his 15th MLB season.

Matthews was with the Braves' organization at the Major League level for the first 15 years of his career. This includes one year in Atlanta, and one in Boston. I believe Matthews is the only Major League player to have played for the same franchise in three different cities; no one played for the A's in Philadelphia, Kansas City and Oakland.

Thanks for the clarification. It was quite a bit before my time so I wasn't aware of the organizational changes.
