What powers are they going to have over social media? If none, then what are they there to do? It seems to me they already have Jen Pasaki doing this job, so why another?
At least you are asking the right question instead of making Orwell references.
What, exactly, is this Disinformation Governance Board tasked with and what powers does it have?

That makes it trustworthy?
That its also on youtube?

Wow.
Are you OK? You are disputing what the man said. You're either trolling or completely out of it.

The man had an opinion that Brietbart thought important.
But its just an opinion and no more valid than a canadaman post.
The point being that you're looking at Brietbart as if its a source of journalism when its just opinion.

Let's see what jcpro has brought us.

Internet users in the US are worried about the USA’s Department of Home Security (DHS) setting up a new Disinformation Governance Board. They feel that this board is going to function as the ‘Ministry of Truth’ from George Orwell’s ‘1984’.
Lots of feelings and no facts there.

Let's continue further down.

The board is to be designed as a means of ‘countering misinformation’. Again, this is a hyper-partisan effort to remove whatever the other side says as ‘misinformation’ and push through your own propaganda. This is what makes Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board a 21st century “Ministry of Truth”.
Assertion without evidence declared as if it was fact.

Then we have some people tweeting that they think this is a Ministry of Truth and you should be afraid - again, just assertions, no facts supporting it.

So, what Jankowicz had said about Trump supporters may be made into truth by the Disinformation Governance Board.
He may utilise Nina Jankowicz, the head of the impending Disinformation Governance Board, to keep information regarding his and his son Hunter Biden’s multiple misdeeds under control.
Back to the hypotheticals.
Again, not even the slightest attempt to explain how she would single-handedly do this.

They do take the time to point out she's kind of a geek though, and was in a Harry Potter themed band at one point.

Still waiting for anyone to tell me WHAT this Board will be doing - exactly what it's mandate and powers are so that we can actually have a discussion about government censorship and overreach.

I love this flailing, panicked energy of fear here.

"She sang a silly song!"
"She likes Harry Potter!"
"She has Lolita on her bookshelf!"

It's just so weird.

Yeah, that excuse will not fly. The social media IS a public forum in the 21st century, whether you like it or not.
How does that apply to Congress making laws? What law has Congress passed that limits 1st amendment rights?

The right has spend decades pushing the idea that corporations are protected by individual rights but now get triggered that some corporation doesn't want to become 8chan.

The second sentence, freedom of speech, says the 1st amendment protects freedom of speech.
In specific reference to Congress.

Again, it's dumb to see the alt-right advocating for more government control over corporations.

the book is about a man molesting an underaged girl why would she have such a pedo book?
Because it is well known literature? You'd have to ask her.

Or is this another case of the alt-right wanting to ban books while pretending to defend free speech?

Guess Biden never heard of the 1st amendment.

The First Amendment protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, religion, and the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Truth ministy can go f itself.
I'll so glad we don't have idiotic ammendments here to give religious freaks and backwoods dipshits the idea that they can run around with guns shooting people and lynching blacks.

This is a great idea the DHS group. Horrible name as it gives license to the low info types. Disinformation and misinformation are the greatest threats to democracy out there. As Voltaire said: "Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."

We have no evidence that God exists. Will they deem any reference to God as disinformation?

We have no evidence GOD does not exist.

If they found it they could define it. Right now it remains the undefined.

If you follow logic we still haven’t answered the fundamental question why did something emerge from nothing. I am not talking about space and void in space in the universe not affected by micro gravity or radiation or energy or matter or time something. I am talking about the absolute nothing which we can’t imagine. If we could it becomes a something.

To answer your question directly the ministry of truth will function on the prevailing ideology as defined by their paradigm lock or algorithm bubbles and limits. If you threaten them they will come after you through whatever means and structure they establish and see fit to maintain their ideology and paradigm lock.

I was under the impression the alt-right thought Lolita was a romance.
