I have previously been very active in this "hobby" for years but have "retired" last year after getting a GF.

Anyways, I go to raptors games often sitting pretty close to the court. Over the years I have comes across several instances where its obvious where there is some sort of arrangement for the girl to be there. This is not just due to age difference or looks or anything its almost exclusively due to the guy acting very strange. Ive had friends whom I don't think know about this hobby even comment on this. Most the girls I believe are some sort of high end SB.

The icing of the cake came recently in the playoff overtime game. Forget the fact that the guy there was poorly dressed and disheveled, but he was also VERY VERY touchy with a girl who was more than half his age. With more beers the behavior got worst. Everyone was noticing this. My friend even wanted to ask the girl if shes okay. But from the outside it looked like the guy was either completely clueless that there is no chemistry between him and her to act the way he was or he simply did not care. Then when the game went to overtime the guy wanted to leave and was making a scene. My theory is he did not pay enough to the girl to account for overtime.... The girl clearly wanted to stay, who wouldn't its playoff overtime... the girl visibly upset leaves with him.

Im hoping whoever this guy was is active on here and reads this although thats very unlikely. I used to take girls out my self back in my hobby days and im sure the majority of scenarios are not like this and everyone involved has a good time. But if you are taking girls out please behave your self in public and read the room, its just so cringe...

I can see the argument that the only way to not have to worry about having to constantly be negotiating boundaries is to throw it extra sharp and clear early.

To be fair, I don’t think any man would spend tickets to go to a Raptors playoff game for a Tinder date lol.

Is it really that difficult to tell the difference between a BF/GF couple and a Client/Escort in public?

During my many visits to the Caribbean, I cannot tell you how many 60-ish to 70-ish pot-bellied, dishevelled slobs I saw at resorts courting extremely hot 20-ish girls. These guys were almost always exclusively, without exception, either Italian or German. If you're going to be out with a woman that much younger than you, at least TRY to look like you have some class and are not a total creep.

These guys at the resorts were always touchy-feely with the girls, who, most of the time, looked somewhere between indifferent and uncomfortable.

OP - that was so cringe. i would have likely hypothesized the same.

thailand etc etc is rampant with a bunch of old slobs with younger girls in public with similar arrangements. while people do notice, unless the behaviour of the couple (mostly the man) isnt appropriate/attract attention, then people dont really care. which I believe is where the man in your story made a mistake.

i think what the OP is saying is that due to the massive age difference with a smoking hot young woman, it attracts WAY more attention then most couples that dont (physically look like they) have a massive age gap.

Now since there was this massive gap (AND he was acting like unaware, drunk trash AND he looked like trash)... the OP didnt feel it was one of those cases where an older successful guy legitimately wins over a hot girl 1/2 his age (like movie stars do) due to their wealth, status, charisma etc.

Hence he surmised it was some SD/SB setup. Makes perfect sense to me.

If they were close to the same age (assume he is 65 and she looked 55-60), and she dressed like a slob just like he did.... people would have likely just thought "what a poor wife, sucks to be with a drunk poor bastard". Now that's assuming they would have even given a sh!t to have noticed a aged, disheveled looking couple to begin with.

Which without a smoking hot young girl to attract peoples general attention, i'd guess for the most part this couple would have been invisible to the general public.
