I love this man

I’m slowly learning Spanish
And I admire his courage to walk through “the slums” of different countries I hope to one day be able to do the same and be as fluent in Spanish as he is now

The videos I have watched locals are always super friendly with him and welcoming

Like it or not but Pablo did a lot for his community
And I love the gratefulness of the citizens and honouring him for what he has done despite everything else

You realize the way he "did a lot for his community" was by ruining the lives of others right??? And he only did it so people like you feel this way about him. Congrats, you fell for his BS.

If you have watched Narcos on Netflix based on true Escobar events and feel this way then you're, respectfully, brain dead. If you havent watched it, you should. Cheers

Pablo Escobar was a chocolateir and Jeffrey Dahmer was into pickling.

Unhinged Tommy Boy Cruise has the biggest ego in Hollywood. He made a film about Barry Seal called American Made, in which the protagonist is a Red White and Blue hero and devout family man - the reality is much different. Seal was a Medellin Cartel drug runner who eventually became a DEA informant. When he finally got burned, he went out like Sonny Corleone, on sanction of Pablo Escobar. Tommy Boy is invincible, he didn't get a scratch.

Fortunately for us Dennis Hopper also played Seal, his execution was also depicted in Narcos.

Very thick headed I am, never understood the appeal of JLow, she's mediocre and mean-spirited. Penelope Cruz is gorgeous, so is Ana De Armas nad my favorite torta, Paz Vega.

MmmmmMm Gooood eatin!

I feel like if you go to Barrio Pablo Escobar, or are speaking to someone with ties to the narco tourism industry, you’ll hear what you want to hear.

I say this as a person who did shady narco tours in the mid-2000’s and went back to Medillan after Narcos dropped for the tourist-trap edition of those tours pre-COVID.

Anywhere I went that wasn’t part of a tour, if whoever I was talking to heard I was doing the tours, the consensus was that any “good” Escobar did was largely just bribery by our definition.

He needed the people on his side to fight incorruptible government and police, to end the war on his business, extradition and eventually to hide him. He accomplished this by spending the money he did on programs that collapsed immediately after he stopped funding them, housing and once, he offered to pay off Columbia’s $10billion national debt - in exchange for an end to Columbia’s extradition agreement with the US.

Almost everyone you meet in Columbia has been affected by Narco violence. 44,000 deaths since the early 80’s. Almost 5,000 directly attributed to Escobar, who targeted mostly police and state officials. Generally, it’s not a topic you’d bring up in polite conversation.

Plata o plomo sounds cool when Wagner Moura says it. However, I hung out with a hostel owner whose police officer dad and uncle were both killed for not accepting bribes by the Medillan cartel.

How many people in Columbia outside of the narco tourism or narcotics world benefit in any way from Escobar’s legacy?

He bombed a commercial airliner to kill 1 man. I think over 100 innocent people died
106.

In his defence, he didn’t like the Presidential Candidate who was supposed to be on the flight. So, why not? The next week he’d kill another 49 with truck bomb in downtown Bogata failing to kill the man that ordered raids on his cocaine labs.

Even if the 5,000-ish people deaths attributed to Escobar don’t move the OP, what about that time he stapled a horn and wings to a horse when his daughter asked for a unicorn for her birthday?

It later died from the infection.

Shit, the guy had his own personal bullfighting ring at Napoles.

Are you really that clueless?

What is it about women that they are so attracted to the worst thug criminals.

I met a young Russian SP back in the day and she would literally get aroused talking about Joe Stalin and how he had "absolute power". Didn't matter to her hat he had 20 million Russians killed and sent Russia back to the dark ages. She was a dumb as a box of hammers too.

Your hero negotiated the building of his own private prison to "comply" with the prosecutors. He routinely had people tortured to death there. He terrorized and killed thousands of people.

About the same charisma as Putin.

Who said anything about me learning Spanish for Pablo ?
If you actually ask questions before just jumping to conclusions
You would understand me saying I love this man
Is in reference to Kurt the man filming the video

The only thing in that entire post that is in reference to Pablo
Is the very bottom where I have mentioned his name
