Video of Will Smith's frustration with wife Jada Pinkett Smith resurfaces after Oscars slap scandal

Footage of a tense moment between Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith has resurfaced in the wake of the actor's now-viral slap of Chris Rock at the Oscars.

On Thursday, a 2019 clip from one of Pinkett Smith's past Instagram Live videos was posted to Reddit, showing the "King Richard" star growing frustrated with his wife when she brings up the couple's past marital struggles.

In the 49-second clip, Pinkett Smith begins by announcing world-renowned therapist Esther Perel would soon be joining the family's "Red Table Talk" Facebook Watch show.

"You know, Esther Perel is coming to the table. Would you say she has been instrumental in you and I redefining our relationship?" Pinkett Smith asks her husband.

You know there have been a few movies on TV lately of his. Hitch was on the day, Enemy of the State, etc. And I have to admit, I said ”Fuck Will” and moved on to something else. I think I just got wrapped in cancel culture here. But honestly, fuck him. I am now pissed he is in movies that I like that I don’t want to watch anymore. LOL
My favorite Wil Smith movie was I am Legend...kinda similar to Book of Eli (Denzel)I will always watch the movies because...fuck Will smith...he might just have ruined his future career but I would enjoy the movie because the character was good...not the actor..

Wrong, a white guy pulls that shit and he's in deep trouble.
It took countless men stopping John Wayne from assaulting a Native American woman at the 1973 show.

More recently, Roman Polanski was rewarded by the same Academy while being a fugitive from American justice.

You have no way of knowing who would be in deep shit or not. If you use the sentences many American judges hand down for rape...like no jail time...then you assertion is VERY wrong.

Going to have to disagree…. That is not what “cancel culture” is… despite what Tucker Carlson tells us. What you made was a “personal choice based on information”.

If you are perhaps heading a letter writing campaign with your local glee club to have all Will Smith movies removed from CBC…. Then disregard what I just wrote.

What everyone will just ignore Wills toxic masculinity and that he thinks Jada needs protection and a knight to keep her safe and ignore the negative toxic message this is sending to all the kids and people who look up to him and damage this is doing to the person he is trying to protect and trying to depower her.

I'll focus on the positives.

At 87 Dame Judi Dench is still lucid. Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons handled Amy Schumer's seat filler shtick well. Kirsten has always been adorable and Jesse has a Babe Ruth vibe to him. They make a very lovely couple.

...I would love to be Kirsten Dunst's seat filler.

You wonder what this wedding was all about. Why stay with him, she's a gold digger?

Jada Pinkett Smith ‘never’ wanted to marry Will, cried at ‘horrible’ wedding

Jada Pinkett Smith confessed that she “really didn’t want to get married” to Will Smith.

In fact, the “Matrix” actress — now on the roasting spit of Smith’s infamous Oscars smack-down of Chris Rock and the Academy’s decision Friday to ban him from the ceremony for 10 years — admitted to “crying down the freaking aisle” before tying the knot with the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star on New Year’s Eve in 1997.

“I was under so much pressure, you know, being a young actress, being young, and I was just, like, pregnant and I just didn’t know what to do,” declared Pinkett Smith, 50, in a freshly exhumed snippet from her “Red Table Talk” Facebook series. “I never wanted to be married.”

In the clip from 2018 — which has resurfaced amid renewed controversy around her louche “entanglement” with R&B singer August Alsina, 29 — Pinkett Smith candidly recalls her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, also known as “Gammy,” 68, forcing her and Smith to wed after she became pregnant with their first son together, Jaden, now 23.

“I really didn’t wanna get married,” Pinkett Smith restated while seated around the circular table with her mom, as well as Smith, 53, and their daughter Willow, 21.
Pinkett Smith confessed to never wanting to get married during an episode of “Red Table Talk.”Red Table Talk
“We only got married because Gammy was crying,” a chuckling Smith informed Willow.

“It was almost as if Gammy was like, ‘You have to get married, so let’s talk about the wedding,’” said Pinkett Smith, prompting Banfield-Norris to confess, “I remember feeling very strongly and wanting you guys to be married.”

The “Girls Trip” star’s mother was just 18 when she became pregnant with Pinkett Smith, and briefly married her father, Robsol Pinkett Jr.

“I do remember [wanting you and Will to get married] but I don’t remember your rejection of the idea of marriage,” Banfield-Norris added. “I remember the rejection of the idea of a wedding but not of a marriage.”

Pinkett Smith then recalled being browbeaten into Big Day submission.

“And now Gammy done gone to Will, crying about ‘I don’t want a wedding,’ and now I’m being forced to have a wedding,” she said. “I just wanted it to be the two of us on a mountain because I was like: ‘This is serious business.’”

Jada and Will married at the Gothic-style Cloisters Castle in a suburb of her hometown, Baltimore, Maryland. And, despite their picturesque venue, Pinkett Smith and her mom both acknowledged that it was less than stellar.

“The wedding was horrible,” Banfield-Norris conceded. “It was a mess. Jada was sick, she was very unpleasant … She didn’t cooperate with anything.”

Laughing, Pinkett Smith agreed, saying, “And I was so upset that I had to have a wedding. I was so pissed I went crying down the freaking aisle. I cried the whole way down the aisle.”

Conversely, Smith — who, in March, earned his first Oscar for a masterful portrayal of Venus and Serena Williams’ father, Richard Williams, 80, in the feature film “King Richard” — was positively giddy on their wedding day.

“There wasn’t a day in my life that I wanted anything other than being married and having a family,” he said during the episode. “From literally 5 years old, I was picturing what my family would be.”

As Smith now has multiple projects on hold and canceled, has lost a massive amount of credibility, and sellability, and is presently in a rich persons asylum, what did he get out of it? There is a very good chance he comes out, divorces Jada(unless he continues to enjoy bring a cuck and simp) and loses 170 million.

It was clear Chris Rock was doing a last minute riff, and really it was a bad DAD joke at best, and Will just lost it. But it wasn't over the joke. There is so much more. The relationship is pure toxic.

Jada had an affair with a Latino guy after she found out that William couldn't keep his hands off Margot Robbie while making Focus. The Wolf of Wall Street hadn't been released yet while that film was being shot. It was a different story on the set of Suicide Squad, Will Smith wanted some but she wasn't interested. Like Paul Bettany before him, Chris Rock didn't press charges...he would have done Smith a favour if he had.

As for SAG legalese, Will Smith has been suspended from the Academy Party for ten years...not a chance in hell freezing over he gets nominated for anything during that time.

The Smith's were pissed off by Chris Rock's 2016 monologue. Will threatened to block out the Sun if black people showed up at the Academy Party.

Miss Robbie is fairly tall. Will Smith is 6'2" and she is not that much shorter,
