2: 1000 bomber raids would get the MDK and destruction rates of those early A-Bombs. People think nuke and freak out, a 15 or 20 KT weapon in the grand scheme of things isn't much beyond what you can do with conventional weapons which everyone was keen to use to the maximum extent possible.
3: The civilian military distinction wasn't really there back then. Rightfully so. Civilians pay taxes to fund war efforts, engage in production and in the modern age are generally as supportive of their governments as the military.
Anyone who equates the A bombings to the shit Hitler did should go back in time and spend a few months in the Dachau Cabana or Unit 731 until they get some sense knocked into their skulls.
