Canada never will have that list. We have Oil Sands and it’s far to big of a political hot potato.Brought the name Hooker into the peoples mind for something other that the oldest ....
Look up Superfund National Priorities List and see that even today there are all kinds of messes still to be dealt with.
Canada does not have a NPL per se but if you want an eyeball to today's ongoing mess locally read about Port Hope soil remediation.
That remediation is being handled by the federal government, through a scientific organization.Brought the name Hooker into the peoples mind for something other that the oldest ....

So it will never be done on time, correctly or on budget. That remediation is being handled by the federal government, through a scientific organization.

Do you have any idea of the nature of the problem? Remediation takes time and it must be done properly. Have you ever worked in the nuclear or environmental fields? Go visit this house on Dorset street in port hope and then report back to us.So it will never be done on time, correctly or on budget.
Yes I know the nature of the problem. Growing up in the Niagara Region and watching Buffalo news, it was on the news every night.Do you have any idea of the nature of the problem? I was referring to the nuclear problem. It is quite different for port hope. A colleague of mine, from my nuclear days, was employed by AECB in the remediation of some of the sites there. Nuclear contamination is more difficult than chemical contamination. However, my hat is off for you and your experience in these conventional mining and chemical remediation endeavours.Yes I know the nature of the problem. I am retired from a mining company so I know what's involved in environmental clean up .
So what's your point?
When you drive eastbound on the 401, you can see an area on the south side that is being constantly monitored for uranium contamination in efforts to remediate it. That activity has been going on for decades, it is difficult to remediate it on account of the wrong things that had been done on it due to ignorance of dangers when Eldorado was operating it as a dump site, before we knew about how to handle wastes.I work for a huge company, and some colleagues in the environmental remediation/brownfields division have been working on the Port Hope remediation of low level contaminated soil for about 15 years, and the project is slated to have them involved for the next decade.
