A good quality mask will help prevent airborne droplets from getting into your respiratory system.
You need like a filter mask though. Not a surgical or cloth. You need even more then an N95. Sorry but I can’t see you walking around the mask required for that. Although it would be fun to see someone walk into my incall that way. With proper uniform to go with it. 😘

Have you done any research on this? Yes a level 3 medical mask will prevent liquids and airborne droplets from getting thru the mask. A level 3 has a liquid proof layer that keeps that shit out.

So not a cloth or standard surgical mask. Think I said that. Lol.

A level 3 is a standard medical mask that just has an extra liquid proof layer. Since we’re not going to agree on this let’s just let it go.

I will probably wear the mask when I'm at an indoor public setting. Mall, grocery store, arena etc. My sister is immunocompromised, so I need to be careful not to pass this on to her. Outdoor, I'll be mask free. I don't plan to eat at a restaurant for a while.

For the record, I'm triple vaxxed. My defensive stance will gradually come down when we do not see a surge in cases after the masks come off. If, say, by the mid-May, everything is alright, then I'll re-evaluate. I feel a lot of people are probably like me. I think you'll continue to see a large number of people masked for the next little while, and the a gradual dropping of the mask. But, that'll require cases to stay low. If we get another Delta or Omicron surge (or other new variants), all bets are off.

I will say, for the most part, I am fairly confident in the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines. But, at the same time, I've spent the last two years being as safe as possible so I don't get this disease. My hope is to have a flawless victory in this regard.

To you and your buddies I ask but one question: why do you give a shit if we wear one or not?
Because it is integral to their identity in some way that they "win" and are never reminded of any inconvenience?
It's hard to tell, really, it's just so irrational.

Finally eh?

You're welcome!

I, and the overwhelming majority of civilized society, followed medical advice, wore our masks, got our shots and did what we could.

Glad you got through it safely. I really am. You prove that Darwinism isn't absolute.

But don't for a minute think you made a speck of fly shit of difference in any way whatsoever. Your re-posting of third-hand propaganda shit did nothing to convince sensible, intelligent people who have critical thinking skills. All you did was jack off yourself and your fellow Covidiots. And made all the fringe websites that made a fortune off all you so-easily-manipulated black sheep.
Nice post. Darwinism does NOT favour intelligence - it can - but intelligence actually is a huge front end investment and can be a negative trait. Capitalism is similar - save your money and invest it in some project - and suffer right away for long term possible gain.

In times of chaos stupidity can be favoured by Darwin - the Dark Ages favoured raw violence vs people who could build flush toilets and as such we had hundreds of years without indoor plumbing. Also see Idiocracy - where stupidity wins.

99% of the population have spent 2 years with a piece of cloth on their face. Lol. I will wear a piece of cloth in situations to prevent people like you freaking out. You’ve pretty much proved our point.

Lol.

No I won’t wear one. I’ll keep a mask with me and put in on in situations to make other people feel comfortable. Which is pretty much why I wore one in the first place. Plus, it was mandated 😀
I have no plans to mask up if others feel uncomfortable if I do not have one.
They feel uncomfortable, put your mask on and STFU.
The fact that someone else is uncomfortable that is not my problem.

Medical grade level 3 masks offer more protection in theory than non medical masks but are not form fitted “respirators” like N95s. Level 3 mask wearers are not inhaling through the three layers anyway and are sucking in air from the sides as these masks are not form fitted in contrast to wearing a respirator for extended periods of times which can be physically demanding as the air is actually being sucked and then exhaled through the filters which requires some effort. The purpose of mask is primarily to protect others from the mask wearers saliva droplets and this reason is sometimes lost on the general public who believe mask wearing is for their primarily for their protection.

Mask and non mask has become a political identity statement unfortunately in many circles and we can see some politicians pandering to their bases.

I’ve only wore a mask for courtesy and thankful when someone is noticeable sick. I hate getting sick period. I’m a guy and it throws me off. I’m not going to get into the vaccine but I believe it is your choice and it doesn’t bother me what your choice is.

Pre covid I’ve notice a lot of people are animals unaware of their actions. For example line ups, the person behind leans up against you thinking the line would go faster. Turn around and you’ll notice it’s always some weird looking person. I remember being in the Vaughan mills mall food court and my ass got grabbed. I turned around and it was a old lady, I should of grabbed her ass back lol.

Honestly the masks and social distancing don’t bother me in public around people I don’t know. Especially around people that smell.

I also love having hand sanitizer conveniently everywhere.

Ok - you know that wearing a mask protects others from you, not you from others right?
Not true. They still catch incoming droplets though the protection they provide from other people decreases with the amount of time virus carrying droplets are in the air as evaporation reduces the size of droplets. Just like everything covid related, they aren't 100% but have some impact.

Why? Because humans are individuals and we are visual. Seeing people's facial expressions makes me more trusting, more social and more comfortable in a public setting.

So you're comfortable/not afraid walking around with no mask when there is still active covid going around but you are uncomfortable/afraid seeing other people wear one?

Now I've heard everything from a rightie perspective.

Mask mandates won't be removed in planes or in public transit yet. Traveling by Viarail mask mandates remain in place.
