Its one race. They have a reserve driver. No different when Lance, Sergio, Hamilton and others tested positive for covid.
You are definitely right about this. I’d be curious if any other national Motorsport association would do what the UK has done. Until then yeah it’s one race.

Nikita Mazepin would be required to sign a document forbidding him from supporting the Russian invasion of Ukraine if he remains in Formula 1.

The Russian is expected to lose his Haas seat because of the Ukraine crisis but is still officially a driver according to the BBC. Sounds like Pietro Fittipaldi will be the replacement

Stunned Haas is speaking to Roman about returning. They should go with a younger driver unless they need Roman once again to help develop the new car

It's about the father. He is buddy buddy with Putin.
I realize that. But still not right to punish the kid. He has nothing to do with Putin.
Canning the Haas sponsor, fine.
Banning Russian teams competing in international events, fine.

Maybe F1 should take the same stance with countries in the Middle East for their terrible human rights record? I know it's all about $$$.

Not that it matters now, but I hope Haas can regain some form and build a solid race car for Mick and teammate to race.

In the future I would not be shocked to learn if the White House had a chat with Haas to axe Mazaspin and cut all ties to the father. Tons of other American and Canadian Companies are closing down their Russian operations.

Losing Mazaspin from the grid is no big loss but I wonder if Haas will be able to replace the $$$$ from his daddy in such a short time and not just end up folding. Maybe FIA floats them a few bucks to keep them on the grid until they get it sorted.

That wouldn’t bother me in the least but with the money Aramco spends and all the races in the ME I have a feeling that would never happen.

I suspect the FIA is floating them some money. Who knows, maybe Mick is adding in some cash. He too has means either from the family or Ferrari

Stunned Andretti is not able to swop in there and buy Haas out.

Would not surprise me if he’s made contact with the team. Biggest issue is probably how close it is to the start of the season. Maybe a partnership forms part way through the year with Andretti taking full control in 23 or 24. He’s already working on an entry for 2024 so maybe this is an out for Haas.
All of that aside it would be great to get back to 24 or 26 cars again. Too many decent young guys not getting a shot these days.

What I read, per the Concorde agreement only the Teams that finish in the top 10 get 'prize money' at the end of the year.

Max the rules allow for is 12 teams, in other words 24 cars on the grid.

Thought both of these 2 wing nuts have decided to leave the past in past...the FIA needs to muzzle these 2 before the season starts.
